31. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An absolutely splendid DVD, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea will make many fans very happy.

32. The In-Laws (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I never saw that earlier flick, but I can’t imagine it’s less interesting than the remake. Although I never thought that The In-Laws became a genuinely bad movie, it seems like a mess. It pairs two genres that don’t fit snugly together here, and it fails to satisfy in either regard. Starring Michael Douglas, Albert Brooks. Warner, $27.95, 10/7/2003.

33. Ant-Man and The Wasp [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though not quite as delightful as the first movie, Ant-Man and The Wasp still musters pretty good entertainment. While its muddled mix of plot points can slow the pace, I think it comes with a nice mix of comedy and adventure. Starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly. Disney, $39.99, 10/16/2018.

34. The War Of The Roses [Blu-Ray] (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a black comedy, The War of the Roses provides an intermittently effective affair. It really only soars during its third act, as the first 80 minutes or so lack consistency. Still, there’s decent entertainment value here. The Blu-ray provides erratic but generally satisfying picture and audio along with a pretty nice selection of bonus materials. Neith

35. Fatal Attraction (Paramount Presents Edition) [Blu-Ray] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Back in 1987, Fatal Attraction became a major critical and commercial hit. Today it seems like a relic, misogynistic and out of whack with reality. Starring Michael Douglas, Glenn Close. Paramount, $29.98, 4/21/2020.

36. Last Vegas [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As much fun as it can be to watch the film’s famous actors interact, Last Vegas lacks anything else to bring it to life. The performers keep us engaged for a while but they can’t redeem the banal nature of the project. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals, decent audio and a good commentary. The movie’s legends make it occasionally interesting but they

37. Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In the category of “chick flicks”, you can do worse than Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. However, you could also do better. The film features a good cast and a few amusing moments, but usually it feels too predictable and uninspired to become a winning product. The DVD features iffy visuals, mediocre audio and no extras. If you’re desperate for a date night

38. The Italian Job: Special Collector's Edition (1969)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A moderately wacky and impertinent caper movie, The Italian Job does more right than wrong. It seems a little too densely plotted at times and occasionally plods, but most of the time it comes across as distinctive and vivid. Starring Michael Caine, Noel Coward. Paramount, $19.99, 10/7/2003.

39. Silent Running (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Admirable in spirit but dull in execution, Silent Running told a cautionary tale that almost totally failed to engage me.

40. Unlocked [Blu-ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a talented cast and crew, Unlocked winds up as a lackluster affair. A few intriguing moments arise, but most of the film remains predictable and tedious. Starring Noomi Rapace, Orlando Bloom. Lionsgate, $21.99, 11/14/2017.
