1. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part 2 [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I admit I wasn’t wild about the first half of the story, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2 offers a pretty solid conclusion to the tale. It seems truer to the tone of the source comic and provides a good punch. The Blu-ray brings us terrific visuals as well as engaging audio and a decent roster of bonus materials. It might not compare to the

2. Batman: The Dark Knight Returns - Part 1 [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 26 years, Frank Miller’s legendary graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns finally gets a cinematic adaptation. Unfortunately, it suffers from some poor choices and lacks the depth/darkness to make it really succeed. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals along with very good audio and a generally useful set of supplements. While I look forward to se

3. Perfect Understanding [Blu-Ray] (1933)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With two film legends on screen and another at the writing desk, I hoped Perfect Understanding would live up to its billing as a “rarely seen gem”. Instead, I got a slow, dreary tale with forgettable characters and precious little entertainment value. Picture and audio seem acceptable for their age, and we get a couple of moderately amusing shorts as bon

4. The Lost Boys [Blu-Ray] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although The Lost Boys never quite lives up to its potential, it still offers a fair amount of fun. At times it can’t match its comedic and dramatic sides well, but it occasionally soars as it provides a reasonably entertaining piece. Starring Jason Patric, Kiefer Sutherland. Warner, $14.97, 7/29/2008.

5. The Stewardesses 3D: 40th Anniversay Edition (1969)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I never thought a movie with tons of hot naked women could be boring, but The Stewardesses proved me wrong. A virtually plot-free exercise in silliness, the film turns into a plodding endurance test ... I think it’s cool that this movie is on DVD for historical reasons, but it’s not remotely entertaining. Starring Christina Hart, Michael Garrett. Shout!

7. The Numbers Station [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not without positives, The Numbers Station feels a bit limp most of the time. It benefits from a good cast and concept but doesn’t exploit them to its best advantage. The Blu-ray delivers generally positive picture and audio but skimps on bonus materials. This is the kind of movie to watch when you’re flipping channels and want to kill some time. S

8. Batman vs. Two-Face [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it improves on its predecessor, Batman Vs. Two-Face still fails to coalesce into anything memorable. Too silly, campy and inconsistent, it mostly falls flat. Starring Adam West, William Shatner. Warner, $24.98, 10/17/2017.

9. Batman: The Killing Joke [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An adaptation of a famous comic book, Batman: The Killing Joke doesn’t live up to the source. The film version feels tepid and fails to deliver the drama and horror at the tale’s core. Starring Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy. Warner, $19.98, 8/2/2016.

10. Batman and Harley Quinn [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Batman and Harley Quinn, we get an animated adventure that focuses on the Dark Knight and one of his most popular adversaries. Unfortunately, the movie seems thin and without much punch. Starring Kevin Conroy, Melissa Rauch. Warner, $29.98, 8/29/2017.
