181. The Muppet Christmas Carol: 20th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Given the existence of eight million other adaptations of the Dickens story, is there any reason to see A Muppet Christmas Carol? Yes – it’s a lot of fun. It also provides a rich and surprisingly true retelling of the tale, and it works awfully well. The Blu-ray offers positive visuals, more than adequate audio and a smattering of satisfying supplements.

182. Young Frankenstein (Mel Brooks Collection) (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I can't say I loved Young Frankenstein, I found it to be reasonably funny and entertaining, and I believe it will probably be even more interesting upon subsequent viewings. Picture and audio are acceptable, and the supplements clearly add to the value of the collection. If well-executed screwball parody is your thing, Young Frankenstein would make

183. Jonah Hex (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of summer 2010’s biggest bombs, Jonah Hex didn’t deserve such a miserable fate. On the other hand, it didn’t deserve much success, either, as it provided a pretty flimsy, forgettable flick. The DVD offers pretty good picture and excellent audio but skimps on supplements. Leave this one for big fans of the character; it seems unlikely to entice other

184. Sunrise [Blu-Ray] (1927)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its vaunted reputation, I can’t say that Sunrise totally wowed me. Nonetheless, I found myself fairly interested in it, and it succeeded better than I expected, largely due to excellent visuals and some nice acting. The Blu-ray delivers decent but erratic picture and audio as well as a good set of bonus materials. This became an acceptable reprod

186. The Snake Pit: Fox Studio Classics (1948)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Snake Pit itself seems like something of a dud. It offers a decent snapshot of psychiatric care circa the late Forties, but it fails to create an engaging story or a coherent presentation. Starring Olivia de Havilland, Mark Stevens. Fox, $14.98, 6/1/2004.

188. The Man In The Gray Flannel Suit: Fox Studio Classics (1956)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Surprisingly low-key and involving, The Man In the Gray Flannel Suit lacks consistency but it presents a rich look at its subject. Told without melodrama or hysterics, it confronts the pressures on the middle class working man and delves into its subject with honesty and depth. Starring Gregory Peck, Jennifer Jones. Fox, $14.98, 8/5/2005.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Futurama saves the best for last with Into the Wild Green Yonder. Apparently the final Futurama direct-to-video epic, Yonder avoids potential preachiness and entertains with many amusing elements ... After three disappointing Futurama movies, we finally get a very good one here. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $29.98, 2/24/2009.
