- 31. Sudden Impact: Deluxe Edition (1983)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the most successful “Dirty Harry” movies, Sudden Impact also stands as possibly the most three-dimensional of the bunch. It seems inconsistent and often comes across like two barely connected movies combined into one, but I admire it for trying something ambitious ... This is a mediocre release for a generally positive flick (and as a) purse-strin

- 32. Superman/Batman: Public Enemies - Special Edition (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it lacks the political complexity its theme promises, Superman/Batman: Public Enemies compensates with other strengths. In particular, it throws out so much fine action that it creates a genuinely fun, exciting adventure. The DVD boasts good picture and audio but the extras tend to be lackluster, mainly because so many focus on promotional efforts.

- 33. Green Lantern: First Flight - Special Edition (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’m sure a good animated Green Lantern film can be made, but First Flight doesn’t achieve that goal. While it provides a watchable movie, it doesn’t turn into anything memorable ... Lantern fans might enjoy Flight, but I doubt it’ll win over new fans. Starring Christopher Meloni, Victor Garber. Warner, $24.98, 7/28/2009.

- 34. Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths [Blu-Ray] (2010)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If I recall correctly, I enjoyed the multiple universe concept found in earlier DC Comics. As explored in Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths, however, the theme provides only sporadic pleasures. Essentially a lot of fighting without much story, the film remains pretty average. The Blu-ray boasts excellent visuals, good audio and a very nice roster of s

- 35. Dirty Harry: Special Edition (1971)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With 1971’s Dirty Harry, one of the screen’s most iconic characters made his debut. I can’t say he did so in grand fashion, as Harry doesn’t provide stellar filmmaking but it does act as a reasonably compelling action drama ... Both DVD and movie prove satisfying. Starring Clint Eastwood, Harry Guardino. Warner, $20.98, 6/3/2008.

- 36. Red Riding Hood [Blu-Ray] (2011)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Red Riding Hood delivers a Twilight-style take on its fairy tale roots, though not in a satisfying way. Instead, the movie seems silly and without much drama or fun to be found. The Blu-ray gives us very good picture and audio along with a useful roster of supplements. Maybe someone else can find something satisfying in this misbegotten fantasy, but I ca

- 37. Reservoir Dogs [4K UHD] (1992)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While Reservoir Dogs shows glimmers of the talent Quentin Tarantino would soon display, it suffers from a little too much ambition and a stretched-out storyline. The movie usually remains entertaining and lively, but it seems padded at times. Starring Tim Roth, Harvey Keitel. Lionsgate, $22.99, 11/15/2022.

- 38. Magnum Force [Blu-Ray] (1973)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The “Dirty Harry” franchise takes a steep decline with the limp, ineffective Magnum Force. Among other problems, the film tames its lead character and suffers from a dull story. Starring Clint Eastwood, Hal Holbrook. Warner, $14.98, 12/16/2008.

- 39. Joy [Blu-Ray] (2015)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At times, Joy threatens to cohere into a decent movie, but it fails to come together in a natural manner. The end result flits all over the place and never turns into a satisfying product. Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro. Fox, $39.99, 5/3/2016.

- 40. Batman: Gotham Knight [Blu-Ray] (2008)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With six segments, Batman: Gotham Knight ends up as a hodge-podge. Some fare reasonably well but the whole package fails to create consistent thrills. Starring Kevin Conroy, Jason Marsden. Warner, $14.97, 7/8/2008.
