Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Like every Kevin Smith film, it’s an inconsistent flick, but it’s an interesting one nonetheless.

- 22. Playboy: 50 Years Of Playmates (2004)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a “Cliff’s Notes” history of the Playboy pin-up, 50 Years of Playmates succeeds in that it presents a brisk and entertaining show. It touches on all the appropriate subjects. However, it does so too rapidly and without even a hint of depth or introspection. This makes it enjoyable but forgettable. Playboy Home Video, $24.98, 9/14/2004.

- 23. Nocturnal Animals [Blu-Ray] (2016)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With its attempts to meld a variety of tales, Nocturnal Animals comes with ambitions it can’t fulfill. The movie lacks purpose and tends to use its various narratives as a gimmick. Starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal. Universal, $34.98, 2/21/2017.

- 24. Friday The 13th [Blu-Ray] (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I’ve enjoyed a few of the modern horror remakes, the new Friday the 13th does little to improve the old model. Indeed, it feels like more of the same but with 21st century production values. Starring Jared Padalecki, Danielle Panabaker. Warner, $14.98, 6/16/2009.

- 25. SWAT: Firefight [Blu-Ray] (2011)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will ever mistake SWAT: Firefight for an action classic. Nonetheless, it overcomes a mix of clichés to become a fairly entertaining action flick that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The Blu-ray presents very good picture and audio but lacks significant supplements. Action fans will probably enjoy this insubstantial but lively enough movie. Star

- 26. Jonah Hex [Blu-Ray] (2010)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of summer 2010’s biggest bombs, Jonah Hex didn’t deserve such a miserable fate. On the other hand, it didn’t deserve much success, either, as it provided a pretty flimsy, forgettable flick. The Blu-ray offers excellent picture and audio plus supplements that include a good picture-in-picture commentary. I can’t recommend this lackluster adventure, bu

- 27. Knives Out [4K UHD] (2019)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A somewhat unconventional take on the murder mystery genre, Knives Out provides a smart, clever tale. It comes with more than enough twists and turns to keep us invested across its 130 minutes. Starring Daniel Craig, Ana de Armas. Lionsgate, $19.99, 2/25/2020.

- 28. A Night At The Roxbury: Special Collector's Edition (1998)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In terms of SNL sketches adapted into feature films, you could do worse than A Night At the Roxbury. However, you shouldn’t take that as an endorsement of the movie. It’s painless but utterly ordinary and forgettable ... I like this pretty positive – and inexpensive – DVD, but the movie does little for me. Starring Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan. Paramount,

- 29. Serendipity [Blu-Ray] (2001)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Serendipity does nothing to reinvent the romantic comedy, but it offers a reasonably charming and entertaining piece nonetheless. It avoids becoming excessively cutesy and offers some fine performances from a solid cast. The Blu-ray provides erratic visuals along with good audio and a pretty nice set of supplements. It’s too bad the transfer comes with p
