91. Casablanca [Blu-Ray] (1942)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Nothing I could say would even remotely dislodge Casablanca from its perch as a classic, and I wouldnít want to try. I donít think it totally lives up to its reputation, but I find it to offer a very well-crafted and engaging film. This Blu-ray presents very nice visuals with sound that seems quite good for its era plus a stellar set of supplements. Casa

92. Gandhi (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a movie, Gandhi falls well short of its goals. It glorifies the life of a great man to an unrealistic degree, and it comes across as a dull, stodgy hagiography. Starring Ben Kingsley, Candice Bergen. Sony, $24.95, 8/28/2001.

93. The Conversation [Blu-Ray] (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Conversation is a rich and subtle experience that benefited from low-key direction and excellent acting. It gets obscured by The Godfather Part II - its more notable year-mate Ė but it remains a solid film in its own right. The Blu-ray offers pretty good picture and audio as well as some useful supplements. Chalk this up as a quality release of a ter

94. Les Misťrables [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Even for a general non-fan of musicals like me, I find a lot to like in Les Miserables. It tells an interesting story in a positive manner and turns into an involving experience. The Blu-ray delivers excellent visuals as well as good audio and bonus materials. This turns into an all-around solid package. Starring Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe. Universal, $

95. Amazing Stories: The Complete First Season (1985)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Back in the Eighties, Amazing Stories never quite seemed to live up to its potential. Viewed 20 years later, the shows vary in quality. Some shine brightly, others meander and lack an impact. Overall, the series has enough hits to be generally entertaining. Created by Steven Spielberg. Universal, $49.98, 7/18/2006.

96. Genesis: 1983-1998 (Box Set) (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As for this set, itís a nice package of audio and video. We get a nice array of music videos that donít look good, but thatís due to the restrictions of the source material. The 5.1 remixes are simply terrific, and the release includes a lot of nice archival material. While not exhaustive, 1983-1998 provides a fine compilation. Starring Genesis. Rhino, $

97. It's a Wonderful Life [4K UHD] (1946)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ultimately I maintain some misgivings about It's A Wonderful Life as a film but I find it hard not to recommend it. Despite my love/hate relationship with the movie, I still usually get that urge to watch it at Christmas. Starring James Stewart, Donna Reed. Paramount, $25.99, 10/29/2019.

98. The Old Man & the Gun [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though it comes with ample dramatic potential and an overqualified cast, The Old Man & the Gun moderately fizzles. The movie dabbles in different thematic areas but fails to commit to any of them in a satisfactory manner. Starring Robert Redford, Sissy Spacek. Fox, $34.99, 1/15/2019.

100. Brief Encounter: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1946)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Brief Encounter provides an early look at the career of David Lean, although one won't find any of the scope or grandeur of his later films here. Instead, Encounter remains a very small character piece thatís too mushy and sentimental for my liking. Starring Celia Johnson, Trevor Howard. Criterion, $39.95, 4/26/2016.
