11. The Grudge (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Grudge aspires to be more than just the usual schlock, but it doesn’t usually succeed. The movie is quirkier and more stylish than most, but it relies on too many stock scares and never pays off in a satisfying manner. Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr. Columbia TriStar, $28.95, 2/1/2005.

14. Manchester By the Sea [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A rich, powerful character drama, Manchester By the Sea fires on all cylinders. It embraces its narrative in a gradual, natural manner that allows it to become a vivid depiction of life and loss. Starring Casey Affleck, Michelle Williams. Lionsgate, $39.99, 2/21/2017.

15. The Grudge: Unrated Extended Director's Cut (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I wasn’t wild about the theatrical cut of The Grudge, and nothing about this longer version made me like it more. In fact, the extra footage slows down an already sluggish story. As such, it’s not something I’d recommend to new viewers. However, if you’re a big fan of the flick, this DVD might be worth a look. Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr.

16. Game Of Thrones: The Complete First Season [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not as action-oriented as I expected from a fantasy show, Game of Thrones still proved to be engaging. It creates its own world well and draws us into its characters and situations. The Blu-ray boasts excellent picture quality, solid sound and an extensive roster of supplements. HBO has produced a terrific release for an involving series. Created B

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In 2005, Brokeback Mountain inspired passionate debate due to its themes, but the movie itself seemed strangely unaffecting. Though it does everything right on the surface, it never quite connects. Starring Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal. Universal, $19.98, 3/10/2009.

20. Brokeback Mountain: Collector's Edition (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... if you do already have the original disc, I can see no reason to bother with this CE. The new extras are very insubstantial, and the addition of the DTS audio presents no improvements over the existing Dolby Digital mix. This isn’t a “Collector’s Edition” that should inspire excitement in fans. Starring Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal. Focus, $26.98, 1
