51. King Kong: Peter Jackson's Production Diaries (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’d recommend the Diaries for fans of Peter Jackson and/or his Kong remake, but I must admit the price tag causes some reservation. The Diaries retail for almost $40, and that seems like a steep price for this kind of set; something around $20 would be more appropriate in my opinion. If the material interests you, I think the package will please you, but

52. The Shining: Special Edition (1980)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should fans who own the 2001 release of The Shining give this special edition a “double-dip”? Yes, I think so. It doesn’t necessarily improve the quality of the film’s picture, but it does give us the film in its correct aspect ratio for the first time. It also adds some good extras. This ends up as a fine DVD. Starring Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall. Wa

53. A Clockwork Orange: Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 40 years, A Clockwork Orange remains an amazing and powerful film. I continue to feel wholeheartedly that it was easily Stanley Kubrick’s best work. The Blu-ray offers good picture, audio and extras. This is the best release of the film to date. Starring Malcolm McDowell, Patrick Magee. Warner, $34.99, 5/31/2011.

54. The Golden Compass: Platinum Series (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I enjoy good fantasy films, but unfortunately, The Golden Compass lacks much to make it a quality piece of entertainment. It tells a muddled tale with underdeveloped characters and little involving action ... If you like Compass, this release is well worth your time, but I find it hard to recommend the mediocre film otherwise. Starring Nicole Kidman, Dan

55. NFL Films: Super Bowl Collection - Super Bowls I-X (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Super Bowl provides America’s premiere sporting event, and Super Bowl I-X nicely details the contest’s formative years. We watch as it overcomes early obstacles to become a huge event, and we get a generally solid encapsulation of each game and the seasons that preceded them. Produced by Steve Sabol. Warner, $64.92, 11/25/2003.

56. Werewolf of London [Blu-Ray] (1935)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not remembered as a 'major' horror film, 1935’s Werewolf of London nonetheless holds up well after more than 80 years. It presents a suitably creepy tale that acts as one of the genre’s better efforts. Starring Henry Hull, Valerie Hobson. Universal, $29.98, 9/13/2016.

57. The Fate of the Furious [4K UHD] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Eight films into the franchise, The Fate of the Furious demonstrates a lack of creativity. While it throws plenty of over the top action and mayhem at the viewer, little of this material sticks, so the end result feels oddly dull. Starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson. Universal, $14.98, 7/11/2017.

58. The Wolfman [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As an update on a horror classic, The Wolfman fails to improve on its predecessor. Dull and ponderous, the movie becomes a lackluster bore. Starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins. Universal, $14.98, 6/1/2010.

59. Frankenweenie [Blu-Ray 3D] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 28 years after the original short film, Tim Burton reworked Frankenweenie with mediocre results. While I respect and admire the artistry of the appealing stop-motion animation, the story and characters lack much to make this an enjoyable ride. Starring Winona Ryder, Catherine O'Hara. Disney, $29.99, 1/8/2013.
