141. The Little Mermaid: Platinum Edition (1989)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie isn’t as good as some later Disney works, but it seems generally entertaining and compelling. It also deserves a warm spot in the hearts of Disney fans because it helped return the studio’s animated department to prominence. The DVD presents very good picture and audio as well as many interesting extras. I heartily recommend Mermaid, and that g

142. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 2 [4K UHD] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 10 years and eight movies, the massively successful franchise comes to a close with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. And it does so in spectacular fashion with a film that seems likely to be viewed as the best of the bunch. Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson. Warner, $41.99, 3/28/2017.

143. 30 Rock: Season 1 (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Like most TV series, 30 Rock doesn’t always soar during its first season. Nonetheless, it succeeds much more than it falters, so expect a lot of funny material across these 21 episodes ... Despite that concern, I like the series enough to recommend it. Starring Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin. Universal, $49.98, 9/4/2007.

144. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 - Ultimate Edition [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not only does Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 set up the series’ finale, but also it stands on its own as arguably the best film of the first seven. It provides a grim experience that proves to be tight and often moving. The Blu-ray comes with excellent audio and a good collection of supplements, but visuals tend to be awfully murky in dark

145. Talking Heads: Stop Making Sense [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you don’t already own the DVD, go ahead and grab the Blu-ray; it may not improve on the DVD by much, but it remains the best version available. If you do already have the DVD, though, I find it very hard to recommend the Blu-ray. Diehard fans will be interested in the added 1999 press conference found here, but I can’t imagine many will shell out for

147. Beauty And The Beast [Blu-Ray] (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Beauty and the Beast remains one of Disney’s best. I probably prefer the original theatrical version to the altered “Special Edition”, but since this set includes both, I won’t complain. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals, very good audio, and an extensive roster of supplements. It’s a solid upgrade over the DVD and worth inclusion in the collection

148. South Park: The Complete Fourth Season (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I don’t know how the fan community regards Season Four of South Park, but I thought it was fairly typical. It featured some very fine shows, some relative clunkers, and others that were somewhere between the extremes. It probably won’t go down as the series’ best year, but it offered a reasonable amount of entertainment. Paramount, $49.99, 6/29/2004.
