12. Cocaine Bear [Blu-Ray] (2023)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With its goofball premise, Cocaine Bear should have provided a silly but entertaining thrill ride. Instead, it cannot choose its own genre so it turns into a messy morass that never connects. Starring Keri Russell, Alden Ehrenreich. Universal, $24.98, 3/21/2023.

13. Something Wild: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Shouldn’t a movie called Something Wild be pretty… well, wild? Instead, this one seems rather slow and plodding, without much vivacity or adventure to bring it to life. Starring Jeff Daniels, Melanie Griffith. Criterion, $39.95, 5/10/2011.

14. Marriage Story: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though I feared Marriage Story would devolve into little more than melodrama, the movie instead develops an involving, compelling character piece. It shows the nuances of divorce and mixes enough emotional flavors to work. Starring Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver. Criterion, $39.95, 7/21/2020.

15. Youth In Revolt [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Michael Cera tries to expand his dramatic range – and pretty much fails – in the quirky Youth in Revolt. In truth, this isn’t an awful film, but it bores much more than it entertains. The Blu-ray provides very good picture, perfectly adequate audio, and a decent little collection of supplements. I feel pleased with the Blu-ray, but the movie doesn’t do m

16. Revolver (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Some view Revolver as an intellectual action film, whole others take it as little more than a load of pretentious claptrap. I fall closer to the first camp, as I think the movie manages to create an interesting twist on a well-worn genre ... Revolver won’t be for everyone, but I think it deserves a look. Starring Jason Statham, Ray Liotta. Sony, $29.98,

17. The River Murders (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With an unusual premise within the serial killer genre, The River Murders boasts decent potential. Unfortunately, the movie suffers from too many flaws; it comes with clunky dialogue, stiff acting and a general sense of lethargy, all of which make it a dull “thriller”. The DVD delivers very good picture, acceptable audio and a decent set of supplements.

18. Observe And Report (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Would Observe and Report have fared better if it hadn’t quickly followed the similarly plotted Paul Blart: Mall Cop to the big screen? Probably not, as the film’s crudeness and aggressiveness will make it off-putting to most. I can’t say I thought it was a great film, but the movie has flashes of humor and provides enough amusement to succeed ... Unfortu

19. Hannibal (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a DVD, Hannibal seems like a good piece of work. Too bad the movie itself falters so badly.

20. Killing Them Softly (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In a genre that usually focuses on powerful godfathers and goodfellas, Killing Them Softly concentrates on lower level criminals. It often does so in an effective manner, but a mix of pretensions cause problems along the way. The DVD gives us generally good picture and audio but it lacks meaty bonus materials. While I think the film doesn’t live up to it
