1. The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (Extended Edition) (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... fans will clearly delight in this high-quality package – if they didn’t already delight in the already-excellent two-DVD release from the spring of 2006. If you own neither, I’d push you toward this four-disc set, as it’s the superior version. Fans who already own the original package will want to upgrade only if they’re really interested in the marg

2. The Box [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Richard Kelly scored a memorable cult hit with Donnie Darko, but lightning fails to strike again with The Box. Too long, too silly and too idiotic, the movie mishandles an intriguing premise and turns into an incoherent piece of semi-intellectual blather. The Blu-ray provides solid visuals, reasonably good audio, and a decent roster of supplements. If yo

3. Lincoln [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Lincoln, we find a sporadically effective historical drama. I like the film’s emphasis on a narrow time frame, and its lead actor greatly adds to its success. However, it comes with a few more distractions/misfires than I’d like; those keep it from greatness. The Blu-ray boasts excellent picture quality and very good audio but delivers mediocre bonu

4. Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete First Season (1999)
Reviewed by David Williams: Curb Your Enthusiasm is a series that must be experienced, as no review can do the show justice and in my opinion, there’s no better way to do that than with HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Complete First Season. In short, it’s a highly recommended, must-have set for any self-respecting fan of good television. Starring Larry David, Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hi

5. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Extended Edition) [Blu-Ray] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Two Towers doesn’t feel as engrossing as its predecessor, but that’s almost inevitable given its spot as the middle chapter of a trilogy. It’s still an excellent movie that continues the tale well. The Blu-ray adds 44 minutes of mostly useful and entertaining material that serves to make the film even stronger than its Oscar-nominated theatrical cut.

Too long, too silly and too idiotic, the movie mishandles an intriguing premise and turns into an incoherent piece of semi-intellectual blather. 7. Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Live (9-DVD Set) (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One can quibble with some of the selections – and omissions – made by the Rock Hall of Fame over the decades, but I think they get it right the vast majority of the time. In addition, they bring together many of rock’s greatest stars to play on stage, a fact portrayed by the amazing lineup found across the nine discs of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Live. I

8. Robin Hood: Men In Tights [Blu-Ray] (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want to find Mel Brooks’ worst movie, look elsewhere. If you want to find one of Mel Brooks’ five worst movies, however, Robin Hood: Men In Tights fits the bill. Uninspired, desperate and almost wholly lacking in cleverness, this one feels like a cheap attempt to capitalize on a then-recent hit. The Blu-ray provides pretty good picture and audio a

9. Band of Brothers: Gift Set Edition [Blu-Ray] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jaacobson: Fully deserving of the recognition it has received, Band of Brothers is epic in its intensity and scope. It delivers a strong, engrossing, and emotional take on aspects of the European theater during WWII. The Blu-ray provides very good picture and supplements along with stunning audio. This ends up as a fine release for a memorable mini-series. Starrin

10. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Platinum Series Extended Edition (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Whether you spring for the “Collector’s Gift Set” or just stick with the standard four-DVD version, you definitely need to pick up the Special Extended Edition of The Two Towers. It offers an amazing experience that remains gripping from start to finish. I didn’t think it was possible, but with superior picture and sound plus even more supplements, thi
