21. Goodfellas: 20th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1990)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: GoodFellas itself remains Martin Scorsese’s masterpiece, as it offers the best realization of his style yet filmed. Never before or since did Scorsese seem so supremely confident and in charge of his gifts in this stunning flick. The Blu-ray offers good picture and audio along with a strong collection of supplements. The “20th Anniversary Edition” become

22. Meet The Fockers [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Arguably the biggest waste of talent I've seen ever, Meet the Fockers is a bad flick. Actually, 'bad' doesn’t cover the stench of this cinematic excrement, as it’s a painful experience due to the disparity between the talent involved and the non-existent amusement. Starring Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller. Universal, $19.98, 11/30/2010.

23. New York, New York: Special Edition (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Is New York, New York an homage, a parody, or a reconstruction of classic movie musicals? That’s a good question, and not one that the flick adequately answers. It includes all of those elements but mushes them together into a plodding piece with little substance or entertainment value. Starring Robert De Niro, Liza Minnelli. MGM, $14.95, 2/8/2005.

24. The Untouchables [Blu-Ray] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Untouchables doesn’t always fire on all cylinders, but it provides a generally exciting and well-executed affair. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture, audio and bonus materials, though the visuals lack the “film-like” appearance I’d expect. Still, this is the best version of the film I’ve seen on home video, even if it could/should be better.

25. The Untouchables: Special Collector's Edition (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Untouchables makes for a solid DVD. The movie itself doesn’t always fire on all cylinders, but it provides a generally exciting and well-executed affair ... For those who don’t own the prior DVD, I definitely recommend this version of The Untouchables. It’s an effective flick and a good DVD. However, those who do already have the prior release will p

26. Taxi Driver [Blu-Ray] (1976)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Dark and haunting, Taxi Driver provides a rich examination of a deeply troubled character. The movie paints a full picture of its subject and remains effective after 35 years. The Blu-ray presents excellent picture and extras as well as very good audio. The Blu-ray becomes the optimal version of this classic film. Starring Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster. S

27. Goodfellas: Special Edition (1990)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: GoodFellas stands as Scorsese's masterpiece. While many of his other films are very strong, I don't think any really compete with it. From start to finish, he demonstrates such complete self-confidence that it's astonishing. GoodFellas is a bold, daring film that uses every tool at the director's disposal to create a true epic. Starring Robert De Niro, R

28. Taxi Driver: 2007 Collector's Edition (1976)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I definitely recommend this two-disc Collector’s Edition of Taxi Driver to anyone with an interest in the flick. That goes for fans who already own the old 1999 DVD. This one improves upon its picture and audio and adds a bunch of nice extras. It’s a very strong set. Starring Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster. Sony, $24.96, 8/14/2007.

29. Heat (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Heat really tries to posit the balances we have to make between our hearts and our heads, and how we deal with that. It's not the most exhaustive study you could want to see, but it's a surprise from this kind of a film, and it's very effective. Starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro. Warner, $19.98, 7/27/1999.
