31. The Godfather: Part II (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The DVD provides erratic picture and audio. In addition, another fine audio commentary from Francis Ford Coppola rounds out the package. While I used to think The Godfather Part II was overrated, I’ve changed my mind, and I now agree with its many accolades. Due to some presentation flaws, the DVD isn’t the great piece of work I’d expected, unfortunately

33. Deep Impact (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At times, Deep Impact offered a reasonably involving and dramatic disaster movie, but it focused too heavily on bland character drama.

34. Four Christmases [Blu-Ray] (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: There are far too many good Christmas movies for me to recommend this insulting nonsense. If you like it, though, go with the Blu-ray instead of the DVD. The Blu-ray offers significant presentation improvements, so it’s the way to go. Starring Vince Vaughn, Reese Witherspoon. New Line, $39.98, 11/24/2009.

35. Gone In 60 Seconds: Director's Cut (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should those fans who already picked up the prior DVD grab a copy of this one? Probably not. The main difference I found came from the moderately longer cut, but I didn’t think it did anything to improve the original film. Picture quality was slightly improved but not by much. Everything else seems the same, so I see little reason to “upgrade” to the new

36. Widows [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Due to the talent involved, Widows comes with sky-high expectations. Though it offers a mostly entertaining experience, the movie still disappoints in a moderate way due to its need to rush through too much of its story. Starring Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez. Fox, $34.99, 2/5/2019.

37. Crazy Heart [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want to see a movie with excellent acting, Crazy Heart is the place to go. If you want to see a flick with rich characters and a stimulating story… keep looking. Heart has some real strengths but can be pretty mediocre in many ways. The Blu-ray boasts terrific visuals, acceptable audio and some minor supplements. I’d like more bonus materials, but

38. Popeye (1980)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A thorough dud, Popeye offers a pretty terrible piece of work.

39. Deep Impact [Blu-Ray] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At times, Deep Impact offers a reasonably involving and dramatic disaster movie, but it focuses too heavily on bland character drama. Since none of the roles receive enough attention for us to care, this means that the movie often falls flat. Starring Tea Leoni, Morgan Freeman. Paramount, $9.99, 10/6/2009.

40. Apocalypse Now (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As I recall, critics weren't terribly kind to Apocalypse Now in 1979. I even remember some controversy about its Oscar nomination as Best Picture, since some folks thought it wasn't good enough to merit that consideration and they believed it made the cut based on Coppola's reputation alone. History has shown otherwise. Starring Marlon Brando, Martin She
