21. The Poseidon Adventure [Blu-Ray] (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Beyond nostalgia and some good action scenes, The Poseidon Adventure doesn’t offer much to a modern audience. It suffers from many inane elements and a generally poor sense of pacing and storytelling. Starring Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine. Fox, $9.98, 10/9/2012.

23. The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean [Blu-Ray] (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An odd mix of parody and sincerity, The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean gets by on sheer star power alone. As a narrative, though, it tends to feel random and less the coherent. Starring Paul Newman, Victoria Principal. Warner, $21.99, 7/17/2018.

27. A Letter To Three Wives [Blu-Ray] (1949)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A pleasant surprise, A Letter to Three Wives came out of nowhere and really impressed me. Granted, based on prior experiences with the work of Joseph Mankiewicz, I should have expected the zippy and amusing effort I saw, but I nonetheless took it as an unanticipated delight. The Blu-ray offers stunning visuals along with satisfying audio and some satisfy

28. Vertigo [4K UHD] (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Often regarded as Alfred Hitchcock’s greatest achievement, I admit Vertigo tends to leave me a little cold. However, I recognize that it offers a well-crafted tale with plenty of psychological depth and intrigue on display. Starring James Stewart, Kim Novak. Universal, $29.98, 9/7/2021.

29. Vertigo: Collector's Edition (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Vertigo definitely is effective, but something about it simply leaves me flat. Maybe it's because the film wasn't really what I expected. While it has some of those moments, it's not a really thrilling chiller ala Psycho. That's not bad, but even though I'd seen Vertigo years ago, I wasn't quite prepared for the route it would take. Starring James Stewar

30. The Fly [Blu-Ray] (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it doesn’t compare favorably with its 1986 remake, the original 1958 Fly has creepy charms of its own. Yeah, it becomes cheesy at times, but it provides a reasonably effective little horror tale. The Blu-ray delivers erratic but mostly good picture and audio along with a few decent supplements. I can’t say the Blu-ray impresses me, but it brings us
