41. The Simpsons: The Complete Twelfth Season (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Maybe The Simpsons will eventually provide a truly bad set of episodes, but Season 12 doesn’t demonstrate anything that I would say really besmirches the series’ legacy. That said, the shows do little to add to the Simpsons legend; we get a few above-average episodes, but the majority seem awfully ordinary. The DVDs provide erratic but acceptable visuals

42. Pulp Fiction [4K UHD] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I've seen Pulp Fiction about ten times now, and it has yet to lose any of its luster or appeal. The movie seems destined to stand as one of the best films of the 1990s, and probably of all-time. Starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson. Paramount, $25.99, 12/6/2022.

43. V For Vendetta [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ambitious and unusual, I admire V For Vendetta more for what it attempts than what it does. It shoots for the moon but succeeds too sporadically to become a consistently successful effort. Starring Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving. Warner, $14.97, 5/20/2008.

44. Goldfinger [Blu-Ray] (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not an amazing step up in quality over the 2006 Ultimate Edition DVD, the Blu-ray does provide visual improvements that make a difference. It’s not night and day, but this is such a great movie that it deserves to be seen at the highest quality, so I endorse a “replacement” purchase for fans who already have the UE. Starring Sean Connery, Gert Frob

45. Goldfinger (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 42 years, Goldfinger hasn't aged a day. Yes, the effects are dated, and the world of 1964 certainly looks nothing like our modern society, but the film's action and style still resonate and excite. I've avoided the phrase until now, but I can't resist: nobody does it better. Starring Sean Connery, Gert Frobe. MGM, $34.98, 10/19/1999.

46. Goldfinger: Ultimate Edition (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should fans who already own the 1999 Goldfinger upgrade to this “Ultimate Edition”? Definitely. It offers a few new extras, but more importantly, it presents vastly improved picture and sound. This is a much superior set. Starring Sean Connery, Gert Frobe. MGM, $89.98, 11/7/2006.

47. V For Vendetta: Special Edition (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Ambitious and unusual, I admire V For Vendetta more for what it attempts than what it does. It shoots for the moon but succeeds too sporadically to become a consistently successful effort. Starring Natalie Portman, Hugo Weaving. Warner, $34.98, 8/1/2006.

48. Prime 9: MLB Heroics (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Baseball buffs should love Prime 9. It sparks debate of the sport’s greatest achievements and allows us to learn more about them along the way. The DVD comes with mediocre picture and audio; it also lacks any supplements. Nothing about the presentation impresses, but this is a fun collection of programs that goes for a low price and will be a nice additi

49. The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe (Collector's Edition) (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At no time does The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe threaten to become a truly memorable movie. However, at no point does it bore or leave the audience without something fairly interesting to watch. It ain’t a classic, but it offers reasonable entertainment. Starring William Moseley, Anna Popplewell. Disney/Walden Media, $34.99

50. Death Wish [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A feverish fantasy for the Trump era, 2018’s Death Wish lacks substance. Neither crazed enough to entertain as a manic grindhouse effort nor deep enough to become a solid psychological thriller, the end result fails to satisfy. Starring Bruce Willis, Elisabeth Shue. Fox, $34.99, 6/5/2018.
