Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It tosses in just enough goofy humor and sweetness to offer a likeable piece of work.

42. Antz: Signature Collection (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though I don’t like it as much as A Bug’s Life, Antz gives us a moderately enjoyable and witty piece of work. The film offers some good performances and seems reasonably clever and likable. Starring Woody Allen, Gene Hackman. Dreamworks, $19.99, 3/23/1999.

43. Prime 9: MLB Heroics (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Baseball buffs should love Prime 9. It sparks debate of the sport’s greatest achievements and allows us to learn more about them along the way. The DVD comes with mediocre picture and audio; it also lacks any supplements. Nothing about the presentation impresses, but this is a fun collection of programs that goes for a low price and will be a nice additi

44. 13 Going On 30: Fun & Flirty Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This “Fun and Flirty Edition” on 13 Going on 30 is one of the oddest DVD reissues I’ve seen. It does nothing to improve the moderately mediocre picture and sound of the original version, and it drops that disc’s best extras in favor of some less-than-stellar new pieces. If you like 13, stick with the prior DVD; it’s the best version of the film to own. S

45. 13 Going On 30: Special Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will confuse 13 Going On 30 with a classic like Big, but it certainly fares better than most flicks in the genre. It succeeds largely due to an excellent cast, and unobtrusive direction keeps it simple and satisfying. Starring Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo. Columbia TriStar, $29.95, 8/3/2004.

47. National Lampoon's Animal House: Double Secret Probation Edition (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of cinema’s enduring comedy classics, I think National Lampoon’s Animal House holds up pretty well after 30 years. While I don’t believe it’s quite as good as its legend indicates, it does amuse ... I’m not wild about the transfer, but the disc mostly satisfies. Starring John Belushi, Tim Matheson. Universal, $19.98, 8/26/2003.

48. National Lampoon's Animal House [Blu-Ray] (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of cinema’s enduring comedy classics, I think National Lampoon’s Animal House holds up pretty well after more than 30 years. While I don’t believe it’s quite as good as its legend indicates, it does amuse. The Blu-ray offers inconsistent picture that tends to look a bit too spiffy along with decent audio and some good supplements. This isn’t a bad re

49. Aliens In The Attic [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should you expect a family classic with Aliens in the Attic? Heck no, but you will find a reasonably engaging and entertaining action/fantasy/comedy. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals, very good audio, and a decent roster of extras. Attic reinvents no wheels, but it delivers enough enjoyment to make it worth a look for its target audience. 50. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre [4K UHD] (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Based on its reputation and my usual preferences within the horror genre, I expected to like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Unfortunately, I failed to find much about it that interested me, mostly because it could be cheap and amateurish, and not in a good way. Starring Marilyn Burns, Gunnar Hansen. Dark Sky, $44.98, 2/28/2023.
