11. Halloween: Divimax 25th Anniversatry Edition (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Halloween is definitely a DVD that should belong in the collection of anyone who even remotely considers themselves a fan of horror films. One of the most influential movies of any genre, it still holds up well after 25 years. The DVD’s image has inspired some controversy but seems generally very satisfying, and both audio and extras are quite positive.

12. Down With Love (2003)
Reviewed by David Williams: Ultimately, Down With Love was a slight disappointment considering all the talent in front of - and behind - the camera. Even so, it gets points for being something out of the ordinary and being entertaining enough to, at the very least, holding your interest. It’s a light and breezy way to blow an afternoon with your significant other, although I’d only

13. Halloween [Blu-Ray] (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the most influential movies of any genre, Halloween still holds up well after almost 40 years. Starring Jamie Lee Curits, Donald Pleasence. Anchor Bay, $29.97, 10/2/2007.

14. Spartacus (Restored Edition) [Blu-Ray] (1960)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Spartacus seems erratic and occasionally wearying, but it offers quite a few solid moments, most of which came due to some terrific supporting performances from the film’s antagonists. The movie also picks up as it progressed, and much of its most satisfying material takes place during its final act. Starring Kirk Douglas, Laurence Olivier.

15. The 39 Steps (1935)

16. The Bad News Bears Go to Japan (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie itself is such a disaster that it’s totally beyond redemption.

17. The Celluloid Closet [4K UHD] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As an exploration of homosexuality in cinema, The Celluloid Closet seems moderately engaging. However, it simply lacks the running time to cover the subject matter well, so it feels fairly superficial. Starring Lily Tomlin, Harvey Fierstein. Sony, $299.99, 11/22/2022.

18. King Kong: Peter Jackson's Production Diaries (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’d recommend the Diaries for fans of Peter Jackson and/or his Kong remake, but I must admit the price tag causes some reservation. The Diaries retail for almost $40, and that seems like a steep price for this kind of set; something around $20 would be more appropriate in my opinion. If the material interests you, I think the package will please you, but

19. Dreamgirls: Showstopper Edition (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Dreamgirls provides an inconsistent but often entertaining piece of work. Though it sags as it goes, it provides a better than average movie musical and displays enough strengths to make it worthwhile. As for the DVD, it presents excellent picture and audio along with a stellar set of extras. This set gives us an enjoyable flick and a top-notch package.
