- 221. Bernard And Doris (2007)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Bernard and Doris provides an abnormally subdued and understated character drama. It resists all urges to overplay its story and participants, as it instead takes a delightfully real and low-key approach to matters ... Give this one a look as a rental. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Susan Sarandon. HBO, $26.98, 4/29/2008.

- 222. Pulp Fiction [4K UHD] (1994)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I've seen Pulp Fiction about ten times now, and it has yet to lose any of its luster or appeal. The movie seems destined to stand as one of the best films of the 1990s, and probably of all-time. Starring John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson. Paramount, $25.99, 12/6/2022.

- 223. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water [Blu-Ray] (2015)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though it sputters a bit as it progresses, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water still works most of the time. The flick throws out lots of laughs and it seems like good entertainment for adults and kids. Starring Antonio Banderas, Tom Kenny. Paramount, $14.99, 6/2/2015.

- 224. Jason Bourne [Blu-Ray] (2016)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Lather, rinse, repeat: Jason Bourne offers a virtual carbon copy of its Paul Greengrass-directed predecessors. Since those movies lacked cohesion and offered little more than frantic action, I view this as a disappointment. Starring Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander. Universal, $34.98, 12/6/2016.

- 225. Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken [Blu-Ray] (2023)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A box office flop, I cannot claim Ruby Gillman Teenage Kraken offers an ignored cinematic classic. Nonetheless, it gives us a fairly charming and entertaining effort that deserved a better fate. Starring Lana Condor, Jane Fonda. Universal, $24.98, 9/26/2023.

- 226. Where The Wild Things Are (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I can’t say how fans of the original book will respond to the cinematic version of Where the Wild Things Are, but I think it works – mostly. The film keeps us reasonably entertained and involved, but it lacks a certain magic that would make it great. The DVD offers good picture and strong audio but skimps on supplements. The movie is good enough for at l

- 227. Vice Squad: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1982)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A silly piece of 1980s cheese, Vice Squad fails in a variety of ways. The movie’s main flaw comes from the boredom it generates, as even with a slew of provocative situations, the flick creates yawns. Starring Season Hubley, Gary Swanson. Shout, $29.99, 8/13/2019.

- 228. Dredd [Blu-Ray] (2012)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While a clear improvement when compared to the awful 1995 film, 2012’s Dredd can’t be called a great – or even very good – movie. Nonetheless, it keeps us reasonably engaged, as some bloody action and a solid cast manage to make it better than it should be. The Blu-ray boasts strong picture and audio along with a decent set of supplements. Although I can

- 229. The Strangers: Unrated (2008)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With its theoretically believable tale of terror, The Strangers could’ve thrown some real scares our way. Unfortunately, the film feels slow and padded; it might’ve worked better as an episode of a horror series rather than as a feature film. It also would’ve been more effective with a little more imagination and a lot fewer stock filmmaking techniques .

- 230. Monster (2004)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A film that will likely remain best known for Charlize Theron’s Oscar triumph, Monster works well as a whole. It sputters at times and becomes a little too touchy-feely in the way it treats its main character, but the overall result seems solid. Starring Charlize Theron, Christina Ricci. Columbia TriStar, $26.96, 6/1/2004.
