61. Full Metal Jacket: Warner Home Video Director's Series (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Full Metal Jacket remains a decent flick, albeit one with little point or flair to distinguish it from others in its genre. And that’s a problem, as we expect more than “decent” from Stanley Kubrick. It’s one of his lesser films ... Note that this special edition of Full Metal Jacket appears only as part of a six-feature set called “Warner Home Video Dir

62. The Godfather: Part III (1990)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not a bad film per se, The Godfather Part III really doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as its two predecessors. From some poor acting to a contrived plot, weak dialogue, and a myriad of other concerns, III remained reasonably interesting for the most part, but it failed to even remotely approach the levels achieved by the earlier c

63. Boardwalk Empire: The Complete First Season [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a series, Boardwalk Empire satisfies, but I’d find it tough to state that it excels. Perhaps burdened by sky-high expectations due to the talent behind it, it was almost inevitable that it’d fall short of the anticipated greatness. However, that doesn’t make it a flop; while it might be a relative disappointment, it’s still a pretty involving and ente

64. Casablanca: 70th Anniversary Limited Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1942)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: So what’s a Casablanca fan to do? Probably wait and hope that WB puts out this set’s first disc on its own in the not-too-distant future. While I like the documentaries on Disc Two as well as the book and poster, they’re just not worth the package’s nearly $65 list price. If you don’t care about the cost, the 70th Anniversary release will make you happy,

65. Alien3: 2003 Special Edition (Alien Quadrilogy Boxed Set) (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A film with many detractors, I think Alien3 actually works quite well. It remains muddled in a lot of ways, but it manages to create a unique vision of the Alien universe and provides a distinctive and frequently moving experience. Starring Sigourney Weaver. Fox, $99.98, 12/2/2003.

66. Alien Anthology: Bonus Material [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... I remain happy with the “Anthology”. It includes some of my all-time favorite movies and brings them to Blu-ray in generally good style. It’s certainly a dream for folks who want to know more about the series’ creation, as it comes packed with more supplements than I’d have dreamed possible. All of this makes me pretty pleased with this massive set.

67. The Letter [Blu-Ray] (1940)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Given the talent involved, one expects a classic from The Letter. Unfortunately, the end result lacks much drama and becomes a slow ride. Starring Bette Davis, Herbert Marshall. Warner, $21.99, 9/24/2019.

68. The Return of Doctor X [Blu-Ray] (1939)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though Humphrey Bogart apparently hated it, I think The Return of Doctor X offers a generally competent horror tale. While inconsistent, it still keeps us moderately involved most of the time. Starring Humphrey Bogart, Rosemary Lane. Warner, $21.99, 10/29/2024.

69. Full Metal Jacket [4K UHD] (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Full Metal Jacket remains a decent flick, albeit one with little to distinguish it from others in its genre. That’s a problem, as we expect more than 'decent' from Stanley Kubrick. Starring Matthew Modine, Adam Baldwin. Warner, $29.99, 9/22/2020.

70. The Damned Don't Cry [Blu-Ray] (1950)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a fairly predictable tale of a woman who will stop at nothing to rise through the social and financial ranks, The Damned Don’t Cry works due to the star power of Joan Crawford. Starring Joan Crawford, David Brian. Warner, $21.99, 6/27/2023.
