91. Ride With The Devil: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1999)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a number of intriguing elements, Ride with the Devil fails to turn into anything particularly dynamic or involving. It’s a character piece with less than enthralling participants and a war flick without many battles. It works just well enough to keep the viewer with it, but it never threatens to excel in any way. The Blu-ray provides generally go

92. Back To School: Extra-Curricular Edition (1986)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want to see some classic comedy… look somewhere else. Back to School has a lot of funny moments, but it also comes with a lot problems. It’s enjoyable but frustrating ... This is a decent DVD for a sporadically amusing movie. Starring Rodney Dangerfield, Sally Kellerman. MGM, $19.98, 8/7/2007.

93. Days Of Heaven: Criterion Collection (1978)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Whether you’ll like Days of Heaven depends on how much you like Terrence Malick’s impressionistic filmmaking style. If you enjoy his preference for visuals over narrative, you’ll dig it. If you find that form to be frustrating and meandering – and I do – then you’ll probably not find much to enjoy here ... This becomes a nice release for a rambling movie

94. City Lights: The Chaplin Collection (1931)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In City Lights we find the second of Charlie Chaplin’s three most acclaimed comedies. It lacks the consistent laughs of The Gold Rush and the social commentary of Modern Times but it still works nicely as a bittersweet love story. Starring Charlie Chaplin. Warner, $29.95, 3/2/2004.

95. Ratatouille [Blu-Ray] (2007)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Through two screenings, I kept hoping I’d embrace Ratatouille, but no breakthrough ever came. I enjoyed the film and found much to like about it, but it lacked that certain kick that would allow me to really love it ... Despite my somewhat lackluster attitude toward Ratatouille, I do like it enough to recommend it. This may not be one of my favorite Pixa

96. Major League: Wild Thing Edition [Blu-Ray] (1989)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I think that this is a perfectly acceptable Blu-ray, though the visual presentation could be better; a clean-up could eliminate the mix of print flaws I saw. Nonetheless, this is clearly the best the movie’s looked since its theatrical run. I’m not sure that’s good enough to warrant a repurchase for fans who have the prior DVD, though. The audio and extr

97. The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Slow, plodding and generally unfunny, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause presents a tired excuse for holiday entertainment. The talents of Martin Short create sporadic amusement, but most of the time the film fails to engage or charm ... This is a decent release for a weak movie. Starring Tim Allen. Disney, $29.99, 11/20/2007.
