11. Fantasia [Blu-Ray] (1940)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans of Fantasia will feel enormously pleased with the movie’s visual upgrade here, but some disappointments persist. We still get the same issues with censorship that dogged the 2000 DVD, and the Blu-ray lacks many of the old package’s extras – at least as “on-disc” features. I still recommend the Blu-ray to fans simply because the film has never looked

12. Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs: Signature Collection [Blu-Ray] (1937)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Disney’s wonderful legacy of animated features began with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and it did so in fine style. The movie deserves attention for reasons above and beyond its seminal status, as it provides an entertaining and warm experience accompanied by excellent animation and artwork. Starring Adriana Caselotti, Lucille La Verne. Disney, $

13. Peter Pan: Platinum Edition (1953)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson. Since this is the third DVD version of Pan, the question becomes which one to get. I think the Platinum Edition stands as the strongest, though it doesn’t blow away the 2002 SE. Both offer similar picture and audio, though the PE adds a few good extras. I wouldn’t call it a massive upgrade, and those without an interest in supplements won’t get much bene

14. A Goofy Movie: Gold Collection (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson Title: A Goofy Movie: Gold Collection (1995) Studio Line: Disney - It's hard to be cool, when your dad's Goofy. Disney's legendary comedian stars in his very first full-length motion picture, A Goofy Movie, packed with so...

15. Pocahontas: Disney Gold Classics Collection (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I enjoy Pocahontas and think it's a rather underrated Disney feature, though still not one of their best pictures. This DVD is a definite disappointment, though. It presents decent but unexceptional audio along with problematic picture and almost no extras. It doesn’t do justice to the movie and it’s a pretty weak DVD. Starring Irene Bedard, Mel Gibson.

16. Classic Caballeros Collection (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: By no stretch of the imagination is Saludos Amigos a classic piece of Disney animation, but it provides modest entertainment. Three Caballeros is a mildly entertaining program that has some high points but often drags and seems monotonous ... This is a good set for Disney fanatics to own – especially with a reasonable list price of less than $20 – but it

17. Cinderella: Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1950)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Cinderella would deserve a special place in animation history simply because it revived the fortunes at Disney. However, it’s more than that, as the flick is still as charming and winning now as it was 69 years ago. Starring Ilene Woods, Eleanor Audley. Disney, $39.99, 6/25/2019.

18. Pocahontas: 2-Movie Special Collection [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I enjoy Pocahontas and think it's a rather underrated Disney feature, though still not one of their best pictures. This Blu-ray delivers excellent visuals and good audio but fails to present all of the earlier DVD’s supplements – at least not on the disc itself. The absence of the old materials disappoints, but at least the Blu-ray provides a fine prese

19. Walt Disney Treasures: On The Front Lines (1943)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the most eagerly-awaited collections of Disney animation, Walt Disney On the Front Lines doesn’t disappoint. It contains hours of material that illuminates various efforts during World War II, and it’s a great set of rarely-seen pieces. Disney, $32.99, 5/18/2004.

20. Fantasia 2000 [Blu-Ray] (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I won’t find much company, but I think Fantasia 2000 provides a more enjoyable experience than its legendary predecessor. As a work of pure art, it doesn’t compare, but it offers superior entertainment. The Blu-ray boasts excellent picture and audio along with a few interesting supplements. I remain disappointed the set leaves out so many of the bonus fe
