21. Blade Runner: 4-Disc Collector's Edition (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: That leaves the debate between the two-disc and four-disc releases. Both have their merits, especially since its $20.99 MSRP makes the two-disc set the bargain of the year. But I think this four-disc version will be the one preferred by most fans. At $34.99, it remains reasonably priced, and it packs in more than enough good extras to make it worthwhile.

22. Blade Runner: 5-Disc Ultimate Collector's Edition (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’m glad I got the UCE, as I think it’s a nice set, and I’m enough of a completist that it was worth it to me. However, it’s just too damned expensive to be worthwhile for most people. The fifth DVD is the only real attraction, as the non-disc-based materials are a bit of a joke. Is it worth an extra $44 for one DVD and some cheap toys? For 99 percent of

23. The Mist [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite an array of storytelling problems, The Mist manages to become a fairly effective horror movie. It delivers the appropriate scares and tension at a high enough level to make it worthwhile for fans of the genre. Starring Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden. Weinstein Company, $19.97, 9/16/2008.

24. Blade Runner: 5-Disc Complete Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Blade Runner remains a seminal science fiction piece that only seems to improve with additional viewings; its place within the annals of film appears secure. This set includes the director’s “Final Cut”, which indeed probably offers the most satisfying rendition of the film. The Blu-Ray looks absolutely stunning, and it adds very good audio and a long,

25. Blade Runner: 30th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray Book] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Which is a shame. Viewed on its own, the “30th Anniversary” Blu-ray of Blade Runner is an awesome set. Even without all those extras, it still includes so many materials that it deserves an “A+” for supplements ... But it’s not the definitive release of the film. Blade Runner remains a classic, and the Blu-ray brings it home in satisfying fashion. Howe

26. Casino Royale: 40th Anniversary Edition (1967)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The movie’s too flawed for me to recommend it to anyone other than big Bond fans, but they’ll dig it. I can’t choose it over the previous release of Royale, however. Both discs offer identical picture and audio, but they come with different extras. I really like the commentary and documentary found here, but all Bond fans will want the 1950s TV version o

27. The Mist [4K UHD] (2007)

28. Casino Royale (1967)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In the end, I think that Casino Royale also deserves a screening, at least for serious Bond fans. The movie may offer the most erratic piece of work ever filmed and never goes much of anywhere, but it seems generally entertaining and stands as an interesting footnote in the history of 007 ... I don’t know how much value this set is to folks who don’t rea

29. Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Like every Kevin Smith film, it’s an inconsistent flick, but it’s an interesting one nonetheless.

30. The Life of Emile Zola [Blu-Ray] (1937)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the lesser known Oscar winners, The Life of Emile Zola does not deserve obscurity. The movie presents an erratic take on its subject, but the film tells a very interesting tale. Starring Paul Muni, Gale Sondergaard. Warner, $21.99, 8/29/2023.
