1. The Golden Child (Paramount Presents) [Blu-Ray] (1986)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After a run of fine films, The Golden Child turned into Eddie Murphy’s first clunker. Of course, his career would decline from there, but this still becomes a weak disappointment. Starring Eddie Murphy, Charlotte Lewis. Paramount, $24.99, 12/1/2020.

2. Eddie Murphy: Raw (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: That sense of anger makes Raw less than successful as a whole. At its best, the movie presents some very funny moments, but it also bristles for long stretches with resentment and bile. This one probably should be left for Murphy’s biggest fans, as it’s too inconsistent for me to recommend it to less devoted folks. Starring Eddie Murphy. Paramount, $

3. Coming To America [Blu-Ray] (1988)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Eddie Murphy’s last genuine hit for almost a decade, Coming to America hasn’t aged particularly well. Too long and too inconsistent, the movie has some laughs but not enough to make it a winner. Starring Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall. Paramount, $14.97, 6/3/2008.

5. Norbit (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A few minutes into Norbit and you’ll look back longingly on Pluto Nash. A film so terrible it makes The Haunted Mansion look inspired, Norbit serves to offend and degrade but not to entertain ... If you want some laughs, stay far away from the abysmal Norbit, an early contender for the title of 2007’s worst film. Starring Eddie Murphy, Thandie Newton. Pa

9. Coming To America: Special Collector's Edition (1988)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you don’t own the old America DVD and want one, I’d recommend this 2007 Special Collector’s Edition. It’s not a great release, but it improves on its predecessor. If you already have the original disc, though, matters become more complicated. Though not extensive, the extras are generally interesting, so that adds value. Audio remains the same, though

10. Beverly Hills Cop [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Beverly Hills Cop established Eddie Murphy as a major movie star in 1984. Despite his many ups and downs over the years, it remains a fun and lively piece, largely due to his winning and charismatic performance. The Blu-ray includes very nice visuals, decent audio and a reasonably informative set of supplements. Even after nearly 30 years, Cop continues
