1. The DaVinci Code: Extended Cut [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I didnít like the theatrical version of Code, and the addition of almost a half an hour of extra footage doesnít improve it. The added material doesnít harm the movie, though, and fans will be happy to see it. Theyíll also like the good new extras found in this Blu-ray release; in particular, the interactive components are consistently interesting. Itís

2. Grand Theft Auto: Tricked-Out Edition (1977)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Back in 1977 when I was 10, something like Grand Theft Auto mightíve worked as a wacky romp. Three decades later, I can find no redeeming qualities from it. Idiotic, pointless and thoroughly devoid of entertainment value, the film doesnít even qualify as a mindless diversion. Yeah, itís brainless, but it doesnít amuse or thrill at all ... I have no major

3. The Missing: Extended Cut (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you liked The Missing and never bought one of the prior releases, grab the original 2-DVD version. If you already have that one, donít bother to shell out the bucks for the ďExtended CutĒ. The elongated edition of the film makes it worse, and the only new supplement Ė Ron Howardís commentary Ė isnít very good. Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Cate Blanchett.

4. Backdraft: Anniversary Edition (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With 1991ís Backdraft, we get yet another Ron Howard movie neutered by the directorís relentless mediocrity. Like most of his flicks, Backdraft maintains a stalwart sense of professionalism but it fails to ever become anything more involving. Starring Kurt Russell, William Baldwin. Universal, $19.98, 9/19/2006.

Director Ron Howard consistently plays it safe here, a tactic that robs the story of any drama or passion. Starring Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou. Sony, $14.99, 10/11/2016.

8. A Beautiful Mind [Blu-Ray] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I didnít expect to care for A Beautiful Mind, I actually found it to offer a reasonably engaging experience. The movie suffered from some of director Ron Howardís soppy tendencies, but it usually came across as a believable and compelling examination of one manís battle with mental illness. Starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly. Universal, $1
