1. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Jean-Luc Picard Collection (1987)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The same goes for Star Trek: The Next Generation - Jean-Luc Picard Collection. The seven episodes vary from mediocre to very good, and despite this inconsistency, we get a nice feel for the character. If youíre new to Next Generation, though, Picard acts like a pretty useful overview of its main character. Starring Patrick Stewart. Paramount, $26.99, 8/3

2. Spartacus (Restored Edition) [Blu-Ray] (1960)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a film, Spartacus seems erratic and occasionally wearying, but it offers quite a few solid moments, most of which came due to some terrific supporting performances from the filmís antagonists. The movie also picks up as it progressed, and much of its most satisfying material takes place during its final act. Starring Kirk Douglas, Laurence Olivier.

5. Spartacus [Blu-Ray] (1960)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (C)oncerns make it very tough for me to recommend this Blu-ray to fans. No, Spartacus didnít look awful, but it gave us a transfer far inferior to what we should have received. Until/unless Universal fixes this disappointing presentation, fans should just stick with their DVDs, especially if they already own the Criterion edition from 2001. Starring Kir

6. Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon [Blu-Ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a look at an iconic comedic institution, Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of the National Lampoon satisfies. Of course, it needs to rush through a lot of topics, but it still delivers a compelling take on the subject matter. Starring Henry Beard, Matty Simmons. Magnolia, $29.97, 4/19/2016.

7. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my aversion to its lead actor, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World offers a mostly fun mix of character exploration, action and comedy. While the film occasionally becomes too self-infatuated to succeed, it gives us enough good material to keep us with it. Starring Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Universal, $9.98, 11/9/2010.
