1. The Complete Pluto: Volume I (Walt Disney Treasures) (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While never as big a star as Mickey or Donald, Pluto held his own through his career. Indeed, he often forced Mickey to play second fiddle in the Mouse’s own shorts. The Complete Pluto, Volume One presents a fairly good collection of the dog’s efforts through the years. Starring Pluto. Disney, $32.99, 12/7/2004.

2. The Complete Pluto: Volume II (Walt Disney Treasures) (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Complete Pluto, Volume Two gives us a decent set of cartoons that star the mute canine. None of these truly excel, but all are pretty entertaining; virtually no true duds emerge. Starring Pluto. Disney, $32.99, 12/19/2006.

3. The Adventures of Pluto Nash (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I didn’t hate Pluto Nash, but I saw no reason to recommend this lackluster and muddled action comedy.

4. Mickey Mouse In Black And White: Volume II (1928-1935)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: We can see Mickey Mouse and animation evolve through the 40 shorts of Mickey Mouse In Black and White, Volume 2. It’s a delightful journey, and despite their crudeness, some of the oldest shorts are amusingly bizarre. Starring Mickey Mouse. Disney, $32.99, 12/7/2004.

5. The Chronological Donald: Volume I (1934-1941)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Arguably the greatest cartoon character of all-time, The Chronological Donald offers a strong introduction to the irascible Duck. Not all the shorts hit home, but many of them provide very good entertainment and a lot of creativity. Starring Donald Duck. Disney, $32.99, 5/18/2004.

6. Classic Holiday Stories: Walt Disney Classic Cartoon Favorites (Volume IX) (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Usually my recommendations for these Disney compilations follow the same pattern: I say that casual fans should grab them but serious aficionados should skip them and get the “Treasures” collections instead. The content of Classic Holiday Favorites complicates matters. It’s still a good buy for the casual fans, but die-hards will probably want to get it

7. Extreme Music Fun: Walt Disney Classic Cartoon Favorites (Volume VI) (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As always, I don’t recommend Music or any other “Extreme” package for the die-hards. They’ll already own many of the cartoons and will almost certainly be able to get the others before too long. Less dedicated fans may want to give this release a look, though. Starring Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Donald, Pluto. Disney, $14.99, 5/31/2005.

8. Holiday Celebration With Mickey & Pals: Walt Disney Classic Cartoon Favorites (Volume VIII) (200
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As with the other Disney theme packages, I can recommend this one to casual fans only. They will like the bargain price, and Holiday Celebration with Mickey & Pals includes quite a few very good cartoons. They also probably won’t mind the less than stellar presentation for many of the shorts. Starring Mickey Mouse. Disney, $14.99, 9/27/2005.

9. Mickey Mouse In Living Color: Volume II (1990)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not as solid as its predecessor, Mickey Mouse In Living Color Volume II provides a pretty good package. It suffers from a relative paucity of classic shorts, as the first set simply didn’t leave that many remaining, but the cartoons remain fun ... Ultimately, Volume II complements the first release and should be welcomed by fans. Starring Mickey Mo

10. Walt Disney's Funny Factory With Mickey: Volume I (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Funny Factory with Mickey includes one excellent cartoon, one relative clunker, and a bunch of pretty good ones. It’s not the Mouse’s absolute best, but it has plenty of fun moments. Starring Mickey Mouse. Disney, $19.99, 1/10/2006.
