1. Last Holiday (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A genial but not terribly engaging comedy, I like Last Holiday more for its social gestures than the material on the screen. It takes a nicely respectful look at its characters; too bad it sticks them in such a dull and predictable piece of work. Starring Queen Latifah, LL Cool J. Paramount, $29.99, 5/2/2006.

2. Bringing Down The House (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it was nice to see Steve Martin ride high on the box office charts again, I wish this occurred via a more entertaining vehicle. Bringing Down the House seems crass and unfunny, and its cast of solid performers canít help escalate the predictable and uninspired material. Starring Steve Martin, Queen Latifah. Buena Vista, $29.99, 8/5/2003.

3. Taxi (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Neither a funny comedy nor an exciting action flick, Taxi fails to entertain. Actually, a few of the stunts are pretty impressive, but the film never uses these well or turns into an impressive flick ... [It] adds up to a pretty good DVD, but I canít recommend this weak film to anyone who doesnít already know they like it. Starring Queen Latifah, Jimmy F

4. Just Wright [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a mildly intriguing presence Ė and an atypical ending for its genre - Just Wright doesnít do anything to elevate the romantic comedy genre. It does come with a nice message, but itís awfully dull and lifeless most of the time. The Blu-ray provides excellent visuals, average audio, and a few minor supplements. This never becomes a terrible film,

5. Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Usually the third film in a franchise is either outright bad or at least a significant drop in quality from its predecessors. That makes Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs a serious exception to the rule, as I think itís the best of the series. Itís the only one that left me pretty darned entertained inside of disappointed by its missed opportunities. The Bl

6. Girls Trip [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A surprise hit, Girls Trip connected with critics and audiences, but I canít figure out why. The movie offers trite characters, predictable plot developments and witless stabs at humor. Starring Regina Hall, Queen Latifah. Universal, $34.98, 10/17/2017.

7. Chicago: Diamond Edition [Blu-Ray] (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A cynical but lively and amusing flick, Chicago offers a musical even a dedicated foe of the genre can like. The film diminishes many of the usual flaws and offers a fun and vibrant experience. Starring Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta Jones. Lionsgate, $19.99, 2/11/2014.

8. Chicago: Razzle Dazzle Edition (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Actually, Iím not even sure Iíd recommend this 2-DVD release for those who donít have the original. Thatís simply because of cost. Right now the single-disc version retails for $20 while the ďRazzle Dazzle EditionĒ lists for $30. I donít think this setís extras are worth the extra $10, at least not unless youíre a major fan of the film. If you love Chica

10. Stranger Than Fiction (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Stranger Than Fiction walks a thin line between clever and stupid. It only occasionally ventures into the latter territory, as it usually seems bright and involving. Starring Will Ferrell, Maggie Gyllenhaal. Sony, $28.95, 2/27/2007.
