1. Ransom: Special Edition (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although I remembered it as a dud, Ransom actually presents a reasonably exciting and spunky little thriller. It suffers from a mix of modest flaws but seems generally entertaining and engaging. Unfortunately, the DVD simply rehashes an old non-anamorphic transfer that comes riddled with a variety of problems. Starring Mel Gibson, Rene Russo. Buena Vista

2. The Thomas Crown Affair [Blu-Ray] (1999)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A rare remake that tops the original, 1999’s Thomas Crown Affair provides a fun romp. Its leads boast excellent chemistry and they help turn this into a lively romantic adventure. Starring Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo. MGM, $19.99, 4/6/2010.

4. Outbreak (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Patently absurd and often clunky, I should probably maintain a strong dislike for Outbreak. Despite its many weaknesses, though, the movie offers enough tension and excitement to make it enjoyable ... I can find some entertainment in this spotty movie, but the DVD itself is a mess. Starring Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo. Warner, $12.98, 5/21/1997.

5. Get Shorty: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though Get Shorty often becomes funny and entertaining, it doesn’t quite live up to its potential. While it enjoys strong source material as well as good performances, it fails to deliver the zest and pizzazz it needs to thrive. Starring John Travolta, Gene Hackman. Shout, $34.93, 10/23/2018.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Patently absurd and often clunky, I should probably maintain a strong dislike for Outbreak. Despite its many weaknesses, though, the movie offers enough tension and excitement to make it enjoyable. The Blu-ray provides terrific audio but comes with mediocre visuals and absolutely zero supplements. This is the best home video presentation to date for Outb

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Unfortunately, all the great supplements in the world won’t make Lethal Weapon 4 any more entertaining as a movie. It provides a slapdash and limp affair that goes absolutely nowhere and provides a terrible ending to the series. Starring Mel Gibson, Danny Glover. Warner, $24.98, 12/15/1998.

10. Lethal Weapon 3: The Lethal Weapon Collection [Blu-Ray] (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Lethal Weapon 3 delivers an action flick inferior to the original but better than the initial sequel. It’s an up and down experience with enough thrills to make it watchable; it just doesn’t seem consistent enough to soar. The Blu-ray offers very good picture, reasonably positive audio and supplements led by yet another flawed commentary. Despite that, t
