61. Frenzy [4K UHD] (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With 1972’s Frenzy, Alfred Hitchcock returned to his homeland, but he didn’t return to form as a classic filmmaker. The flick shows a few inspired moments but seems meandering and forgettable too much of the time. Starring Jon Finch, Barry Foster. Universal, $29.98, 10/31/2023.

62. The Wrong Man (1956)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Occasionally The Wrong Man manages to turn into something reasonably special, as it presents an unusual perspective for many segments. However, it tries to pack in too many story elements and doesnt blend them well. That makes it awkward and stilted at times and leaves us with a film that only sporadically becomes satisfying. Starring Henry Fonda, Vera

63. Rope [4K UHD] (1948)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Most directors who attempt real time movies without obvious cuts would make their works unbearably stilted and pretentious. Alfred Hitchcock wasn’t 'most directors', though, so his use of unusual techniques in Rope does much to benefit the drama and little to harm it. Starring James Stewart, John Dall. Universal, $29.98, 10/31/2023.

64. Vertigo: Collector's Edition (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Vertigo definitely is effective, but something about it simply leaves me flat. Maybe it's because the film wasn't really what I expected. While it has some of those moments, it's not a really thrilling chiller ala Psycho. That's not bad, but even though I'd seen Vertigo years ago, I wasn't quite prepared for the route it would take. Starring James Stewar

66. Marnie: Collector's Edition (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hitchcock does little to make the story more exciting. A few scenes appear especially well-staged ... but most use such obvious and overbearing symbolism that they seem more like imitation Hitchcock than the real thing. Despite all these criticisms, I still found Marnie to be watchable and mildly entertaining, but it clearly pales in comparison with Hitc

67. Notorious [Blu-Ray] (1946)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many seem to regard Notorious as one of Hitchcocks all-time great films, but I must admit I dont get its appeal. While it has its moments, I think its too slow and lacks enough intrigue to qualify as better than average. Starring Cary Grant, Ingrid Bergman. Criterion, $39.95, 1/15/2019.

68. The Man Who Knew Too Much: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1934)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hitchcock fans will always debate whether the 1934 original or the 1956 remake of The Man Who Knew Too Much works better. Id argue neither, as both seem mediocre to me. The film has merits at its core and I like the performance from Peter Lorre as the villain but this just seems to be a nut Hitchcock never satisfactorily cracked. The Blu-ray deliv

69. The Trouble With Harry (1955)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though a little more comedic than most Hitchcock flicks, The Trouble With Harry marks enough of the directors hallmarks to still feel like one of his works. We find a skewed mystery that rarely cares about what happened to the titular victim, and it becomes an enjoyable experience. The DVD suffers from erratic visuals along with perfectly acceptable aud
