31. JFK: Ultimate Collector's Edition (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: (A) double – or triple, or quadruple – dip (is) difficult to recommend. Objectively, the UCE provides the best release of JFK simply because it has all the supplements from the prior versions along with some new materials. However, its semi-high price makes it a tough sell. If you really, really dig JFK, I’d say go for it, but I think the 2003 SE remains

32. The Courier [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Nothing about The Courier manages to do much with the action genre. Trite and predictable, the movie never finds a groove. Starring Olga Kurylenko, Gary Oldman. Lionsgate, $21.99, 1/21/2020.

33. Killers Anonymous [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As much as I like the idea of story about assassins in recovery, Killers Anonymous lacks personality or forward momentum. It presents an inconsistent, scattered narrative that never clicks. Starring Gary Oldman, Jessica Alba. Lionsgate, $21.99, 8/27/2019.

34. Man Down [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With an ambitious, non-linear narrative, Man Down delivers an unusual view of its subject matter. Parts of it work well, but the movie doesn’t quite come together in the end to create a coherent experience. Starring Shia LaBeouf, Gary Oldman. Lionsgate, $24.99, 3/7/2017.

35. Hunter Killer [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When Hunter Killer hit movie screens in fall 2018, I wanted to see it but it vanished from theaters so quickly that I couldn’t. This feels like less of a disappointment now that I’ve watched the film at home, as the project lacks excitement, drama or much real reason to entertain the viewer. Starring Gerard Butler, Gary Oldman. Lionsgate, $39.99, 1/2

36. The Space Between Us [Blu-Ray] (2017)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Sappy and silly, The Space Between Us embraces every cliché it can find. While a few elements threaten to prosper, the movie wallows in cheese and melodrama. Starring Gary Oldman, Asa Butterfield. Universal, $34.98, 5/16/2017.

37. The Fifth Element [Blu-Ray 4K] (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 18 years and a bunch of screenings, I continue to find The Fifth Element to provide a funny, exciting and lively experience. The movie packed in more inventiveness than 10 standard flicks combined, and it did so with flair, panache, and class. Starring Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich. Sony, $19.98, 10/27/2015.

38. Kung Fu Panda 2 [Blu-Ray] (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Kung Fu Panda 2, we find a film that improves on its predecessor. Funnier, smarter and more engaging, the sequel works pretty well. Starring Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman. DreamWorks, $19.99, 12/13/2011.

39. Leon: The Professional [Blu-Ray] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Leon effectively combines hard-hitting action with moving drama to create an indelible piece of work that seems very effective. The Blu-ray provides generally positive picture and audio along with a few decent extras. While this isn’t a great disc, it still manages to serve the movie well and it earns my recommendation. Starring Jean Reno, Natalie Portma

40. Disney's A Christmas Carol [Blu-Ray 3D] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Disney’s A Christmas Carol provides a flawed version of the story. Robert Zemeckis adapts the tale well, gives it a satisfying dark side and moves it along well with his direction, but his decision to use ugly motion capture animation robs it of some impact, as the visuals simply remain too ugly and unnatural to allow the viewer to really dig into it.
