- 81. Messiah of Evil [Blu-Ray] (1974)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a low-budget 1970s horror movie, one can do worse than Messiah of Evil. However, the presence of American Graffiti screenwriters Willard Huyck and Gloria Katz raises expectations that the film fails to fulfill. Starring Mariana Hill, Michael Greer. Radiance, $44.95, 10/24/23.

- 82. Raiders Of The Lost Ark [4K UHD] (1981)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 40 years after its debut, Raiders of the Lost Ark remains one of the greatest movies ever made. It absolutely defines the action adventure and presents a virtually perfect piece of excitement. Starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen. Paramount, $99.98, 6/15/2021.

- 83. Labyrinth [Blu-Ray] (1986)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Labyrinth will never be one of my favorite films, and if it didn’t star my all-time favorite performer, I’d probably never have bothered with it. Still, it has enough going for it that kids should enjoy it. The Blu-ray presents very good picture along with pretty positive audio and a strong set of supplements. The Blu-ray doesn’t blow away the prior DVD

- 84. Berry Gordy's The Last Dragon [Blu-Ray] (1985)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Campy, disjointed and nearly devoid of entertainment value, Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon flops. Nothing about it connects, so it turns into a messy and cheesy affair. Starring Taimak, Vanity. Sony, $19.99, 8/25/2015.

- 85. 2001: A Space Odyssey [Blu-Ray] (1968)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While I continue to maintain mixed feelings about 2001: A Space Odyssey itself, I can’t argue with its enduring legacy and the high level at which it was executed. Starring Keir Dullea, Gary Lockwood. Warner, $12.97, 10/23/2007.

- 86. Silent Running: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1971)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Admirable in spirit but dull in execution, Silent Running tells a cautionary tale that almost totally fails to engage. The plodding piece possesses some intriguing concepts, but the result seems lifeless and bland. Starring Bruce Dern, Ron Rifkin. Arrow, $39.95, 11/17/2020.

- 87. Scream 2 [Blu-Ray] (1997)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a sequel to a semi-spoof, Scream 2 encountered unusual challenges. It didn’t surmount all of these, but it worked well enough to provide a mostly entertaining flick. Starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette. Lionsgate, $19.98, 3/29/2011.

- 88. Labyrinth: Anniversary Edition (1986)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As with any movie that’s gone through multiple DVD re-releases, the question becomes which one is the best. I think that this “Anniversary Edition” stands as the most appealing of the four, but don’t expect it to blow away the old versions. Starring David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly. Columbia TriStar, $24.96, 8/14/2007.

- 89. Alien: Covenant [4K UHD] (2017)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a slew of enticing action sequences, Alien: Covenant tops the sluggish Prometheus. However, it lacks much creative energy of its own, so it becomes a derivative entry in the franchise. Starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston. Fox, $19.98, 8/15/2017.

- 90. War Of The Worlds (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This review covers the $30 standard edition, but there’s also a ”Limited Edition” that retails for about $40. The only difference comes from the extras, as the LE includes many more bonus materials on its second disc. Are the LE’s supplements worth an extra $10? I think so, but that’ll depend on your interest in such elements. Starring Tom Cruise, Dakota
