21. Village of the Damned [Blu-Ray] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though far from John Carpenter’s worst film, Village of the Damned doesn’t fare especially well. I think the movie comes with potential, but as told here, the result seems flat and bland. Starring Christopher Reeve, Kirstie Alley. Shout! Factory, $34.93, 4/12/2016.

22. The Thing [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’d love to wholeheartedly recommend the Blu-ray, but I can’t. While it presents the movie in the best manner to date, it drops many of the supplements from the prior DVDs. Fans will want to get it to see the film in the most positive way, but the absence of so many existing extras makes the Blu-ray a disappointment. Starring Kurt Russell, Wilford Brimle

23. The Thing (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although it was a financial bomb at the box office in the summer of 1982, The Thing has since gone on to become a minor classic of the science fiction genre. Its delicious melding of sci-fi creatures with Fifties-era paranoiac drama create a film that remains wonderfully tense and unusual. The DVD provides flawed visuals, erratic but generally good audio

24. Christine: Special Edition (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Christine features a good premise and a few effective sequences, but it sags too much of the time to succeed. From awkward storytelling to an over the top lead performance to weird suspensions of disbelief, the movie never really gets into first gear ... I’m not wild about the movie, but fans should be happy with this release. Starring Keith Gordon, John

25. Starman: Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Would we view Starman differently if ET never existed? I’m sure we would, but I’m not as sure that’d make it a more appealing movie, as Starman delivers reasonable emotion and entertainment but it lacks the spark that would make it truly memorable. Starring Jeff Bridges, Karen Allen. Shout, $34.93, 12/18/2018.

29. Elvis (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In 1979’s Elvis, we get a more than competent TV movie, but not anything that I really think approaches greatness. Though the film entertains and informs fairly well, it still has that slightly stiff “TV movie” feel to it. The DVD offers mediocre visuals and audio along with a few decent extras. Fans will be happy to finally have Elvis on DVD, but I can’
