1. The Verdict: Collector's Edition (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a DVD, this Collector’s Edition of The Verdict offers a nice product. Fans will want to pursue this version, and that goes for those who already own the original release, mainly due to the improvements in visual quality. I like the new extras as well, but the significantly stronger transfer makes this Verdict a winner. Starring Paul Newman, Charlotte

2. The Hustler: Collector's Edition (1961)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While this Collector’s Edition of The Hustler is a must-have for new fans, does it deserve “repurchase” status for those who already own the original DVD? Yes, if those viewers like supplements. We get a few good new pieces here, but picture and audio remain identical when compared to the prior release. Starring Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason. Fox, $19.98,

3. The Hustler [Blu-Ray Book] (1961)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite my much-earlier dislike for The Hustler, I now find it to offer a pretty terrific piece of work. Buoyed by some daring storytelling and excellent acting, the film holds up well after four decades. The Blu-ray offers excellent picture quality, good audio and a terrific set of supplements. The Blu-ray becomes the definitive home video release of th

4. Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid: Ultimate Collector's Edition (1969)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This “Ultimate Collector’s Edition” of Sundance acts as a solid upgrade from the 2000 DVD. Audio remains about the same, but both picture and extras are stronger here. Though those areas were good on the prior disc, they leap up on the 2006 version. That makes it the version to own for fans. Starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford. Fox, $26.98, 6/6/2006.

5. The Verdict [Blu-Ray] (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Verdict presents a good but not great film. The story has promise, and the actors make it work, but the execution of the plot seems flat and melodramatic much of the time. Still, it works well enough to offer an enjoyable experience. The Blu-ray offers decent picture and audio along with a fairly informative mix of bonus materials. This is an upgrade

6. The Prize [Blu-Ray] (1963)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a filmography that emphasized soap opera-style efforts, Mark Robson seemed like the wrong person for The Prize, a Hitchcockian thriller. Robson’s preference for broad melodrama saps the movie of its potential, and even Paul Newman can't redeem it. Starring Paul Newman, Edward G. Robinson. Warner, $21.99, 1/15/19.

7. Harper [Blu-Ray] (1966)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With Paul Newman, Lauren Bacall and a lot of other talent involved, Harper should soar. Unfortunately, the movie only sporadically hits the mark, as too much of it feels loose and off-target. Starring Paul Newman, Lauren Bacall. Warner Archives, $21.99, 2/27/18.

8. Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid: Special Edition (1969)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid isn't a great movie, but I found it to offer a fair amount of fun and entertainment, mainly sparked by the strong chemistry of its stars. Starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford. Fox, $14.98, 5/16/2000.

9. The Verdict (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The film provided some excellent acting, and it seemed generally entertaining and compelling.

10. Sweet Bird of Youth [Blu-Ray] (1962)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite strong talent in front of and behind the camera, Sweet Bird of Youth fails to connect. It shows glimmers of promise at times, but too much of it feels disjointed. Starring Paul Newman, Geraldine Page. Warner, $21.99, 4/28/2020.
