51. The Fugitive: Season 1, Volume 1 (1963)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though the absence of extras disappoints, The Fugitive offers a good experience. The show has its highs and lows but usually keeps our interest and creates a lot of clever tales. Other than the lack of supplements, Volume One of The Fugitive’s first season works well on DVD ... This is a quality series that deserves your attention. Starring David Janssen

52. The Godfather: Part II (1974)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The DVD provides erratic picture and audio. In addition, another fine audio commentary from Francis Ford Coppola rounds out the package. While I used to think The Godfather Part II was overrated, I’ve changed my mind, and I now agree with its many accolades. Due to some presentation flaws, the DVD isn’t the great piece of work I’d expected, unfortunately

53. Apocalypse Now [Blu-Ray] (1979)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Without question, I recommend Apocalypse Now to all movie fans. Despite my continued disdain for the third act, it deserves its status as a classic. The Blu-ray provides excellent audio and supplements; picture disappoints a little, but the movie still looks quite good. This ends up as easily the best home video representation of the film to date. Starri

54. Deep Impact [4K UHD] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At times, Deep Impact offers a reasonably involving and dramatic disaster movie, but it focuses too heavily on bland character drama. Since none of the roles receive enough attention for us to care, this means that the movie often falls flat. Starring Tea Leoni, Morgan Freeman. Paramount, $19.99, 5/2/2023.

55. 12 Mighty Orphans [Blu-Ray] (2021)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Nothing about 12 Mighty Orphans offers a creative take on the “inspirational sports story” genre, but it still brings reasonable charm. Partly thanks to a good cast, the movie largely keeps us with it. Starring Luke Wilson, Martin Sheen. Sony, $30.99, 8/31/2021.

56. Gone In 60 Seconds [Blu-Ray] (2000)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will award Gone In 60 Seconds any prizes for originality, but it nonetheless provides a solidly entertaining and exciting experience. Predictable as it may be, it still gives us a fun ride. Starring Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie. Buena Vista, $14.98, 10/17/2006.

57. The Road [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Taken from a highly successful book, The Road promises a rich twist on an old premise. However, it doesn’t offer enough substance to make it worthwhile; it tends to ramble and lacks the heart and depth to keep us with it. The Blu-ray provides very good picture and audio; it doesn’t pack a ton of supplements, but it comes with a terrific audio commentary.

58. The Godfather (45th Anniversary Re-Issue) [Blu-Ray] (1972)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Godfather earned the second position on the American Film Institute’s list of the Top 100 films. 45 years after its initial release, I find it hard to quibble with that choice. Starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino. Paramount, $14.99, 5/9/2017.

59. The Fast and the Furious [4K UHD] (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I guess a lot of people like The Fast and the Furious, but I think it offers a pretty bland film. It boasts a few good racing/action sequences, but its bland characters and rehashed plot mean that it never becomes anything more than average. Starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker. Universal, $29.98, 10/2/2018.
