11. Doogal (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: When I went into Doogal, I expected a wholly terrible movie. Although it wasn’t atrocious, it certainly wasn’t good. The film was little more than a loose framework for random gags. Starring Daniel Tay, Jimmy Fallon. Weinstein Company, $28.95, 5/16/2006.

13. It's A Very Muppet Christmas Movie: Special Edition (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will mistake It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie for a holiday classic. However, despite the flick’s erratic portions, it seems generally entertaining and improves as it progresses. Starring Jim Henson's Muppets. MGM, $19.98, 10/7/2003.

14. The Color Purple [4K UHD] (1985)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though The Color Purple enjoys a positive reputation, I fail to comprehend why, as the movie suffers from a vast number of flaws, most of which result from the work of its director. Steven Spielberg desperately tried to escape his reputation as an action-fantasy auteur, but the sweet and sugary vision of Black sisterhood seems less plausible than anythi

15. Monkeybone: Special Edition (2001)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson Title: Monkeybone: Special Edition (2001) Studio Line: 20th Century Fox - If It Yells, If It Swings, It's Got To Be Monkeybone! It's rude! It's raunchy! It's totally outrageous! Brendan Fraser goes bananas in this comedy...

16. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Season Two (1988)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: During the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation, small changes occurred but no one tried to reinvent the program. That’s a good thing, for the first year established the setting and the characters well and Season Two felt like a nice expansion on it.

17. Ghost (Paramount Presents Edition) [Blu-Ray] (1990)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 30 years after it took theaters by storm, I remain moderately unimpressed by Ghost and still can’t figure out what all the fuss was about, but I acknowledge that it’s a generally entertaining and well-made film. Starring Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore. Paramount, $29.98, 7/21/2020.

18. The Celluloid Closet [4K UHD] (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As an exploration of homosexuality in cinema, The Celluloid Closet seems moderately engaging. However, it simply lacks the running time to cover the subject matter well, so it feels fairly superficial. Starring Lily Tomlin, Harvey Fierstein. Sony, $299.99, 11/22/2022.

19. Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project (Collector's Edition) (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the few remaining links to the glory days of Las Vegas, Don Rickles is still going strong in his eighties. We get a fond and entertaining look at the comedian in Mr. Warmth, a somewhat inconsistent but usually enjoyable documentary ... This isn’t a great DVD by technical standards, but it’s a good program that earns my recommendation. Starring Don

20. The Lion King 1 1/2 [Blu-Ray] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It never equals the heights of the original, but The Lion King 1 ½ nonetheless offers one of Disney’s strongest direct to video pieces. The movie seems light and irreverent as it demythologizes the original in a frisky and clever way. The Blu-ray presents excellent picture with generally good audio and a minor roster of supplements. With a list price of
