31. Star Trek [4K UHD] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While it delivers a rousing adventure, the 2009 reboot just doesn’t feel enough like Star Trek to totally satisfy. The 4K UHD boasts improved picture and audio compared to the original Blu-ray. Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto. Paramount, $24.99, 6/14/2016.

32. Star Trek [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As a series reboot, Star Trek came as a tremendous financial success. Does it work as well in terms of its creative side? Yes and no. While it’s a rousing adventure, it just doesn’t feel enough like Star Trek to totally satisfy. The Blu-ray provides excellent picture and audio along with a terrific set of supplements. 33. Vacation [Blu-Ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Whether we view it as a remake or a reboot or a sequel, 2015’s Vacation becomes a weak film. It offers a handful of laughs but lacks much comedic zeal. Starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate. Warner, $44.95, 11/3/2015.

34. The Last Song [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With The Last Song, Miley Cyrus moves toward the grown-up portion of her career. She takes little more than baby steps, though, so anyone who expects her to separate herself from her prefab image will feel disappointed in this trite, ordinary melodrama. The Blu-ray provides generally good picture and audio along with a few reasonably useful supplements.

36. Bad Times At the El Royale [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Going into Bad Times At the El Royale, I expected a stylish, lively take on the thriller genre. While the film does come with an interesting visual sensibility, the story and characters connect too infrequently for the movie to prosper. Starring Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm. Fox, $34.99, 1/1/2019.

39. The Expendables 2 [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The original Expendables felt more like a big concept than an actual movie, and that trend continues with its sequel. The Expendables 2 comes with occasional spurts of entertaining mayhem, but most of it feels bland and lackluster. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham. Lionsgate, $14.99, 11/20/2012.

40. Jay & Silent Bob Reboot [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 20 years ago, Kevin Smith produced clever, insightful comedies. As shown with Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, though, he no longer seems able to do anything other than rehash the same gags over and over again. Starring Jason Mewes, Kevin Smith. Lionsgate, $21.99, 1/21/2020.
