31. Dreamgirls: Showstopper Edition (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Dreamgirls provides an inconsistent but often entertaining piece of work. Though it sags as it goes, it provides a better than average movie musical and displays enough strengths to make it worthwhile. As for the DVD, it presents excellent picture and audio along with a stellar set of extras. This set gives us an enjoyable flick and a top-notch package.

32. The Dead Don't Die [Blu-Ray] (2019)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: An ironic, hipster spin on the zombie film, The Dead Don’t Die seems far too in love with itself. While the overqualified cast adds some value, the self-referential script and slow pace make it less than engaging. Starring Bill Murray, Adam Driver. Universal, $24.99, 9/10/2019.

33. Shooter [4K UHD] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Mark Wahlberg shows uncommon signs of life as an actor in Shooter, an intriguing and gritty action flick. Imbued with a sense of Seventies paranoia along with its violence, the movie turns into a stimulating affair. Starring Mark Wahlberg, Michael Peña. Paramount, $30.99, 3/15/2022.

34. Sorry to Bother You [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Bold and ambitious, Sorry to Bother You often hits the mark. However, it goes too far into surreality for its own good and this tendency takes away some of its impact. Starring Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thompson. Fox, $34.99, 10/23/2018.

36. Saw [4K UHD] (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Back in 2004, Saw became a decent hit that spawned a long series of sequels and spinoffs. I must admit I fail to see the appeal of this original film, as it squanders a promising premise to end up as a sluggish tale. Starring Cary Elwes, Leigh Whannell. Lionsgate, $22.99, 5/11/2021.

37. Be Kind Rewind (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I thought Be Kind Rewind looked like it’d be a hoot, but instead it turned out to be a bit of a bore. The flick starts off reasonably well but steadily declines to the point where I eagerly looked forward to its end ... Though the disc presents it well enough, the movie is a real disappointment. Starring Jack Black, Mos Def. New Line, $27.95, 6/17/2008.

38. The Old Man & the Gun [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though it comes with ample dramatic potential and an overqualified cast, The Old Man & the Gun moderately fizzles. The movie dabbles in different thematic areas but fails to commit to any of them in a satisfactory manner. Starring Robert Redford, Sissy Spacek. Fox, $34.99, 1/15/2019.
