41. The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King (Extended Edition) [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: My only quibble with the extended edition of The Return of the King relates to the cut of the film itself. It remains a strong movie, but I think the added bits don’t always benefit the story. Nonetheless, they do help flesh out some moments. The Blu-ray displays absolutely stellar picture and audio as well as a long, rich and enjoyable roster of supplem

42. Alien Anthology: Bonus Material [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: ... I remain happy with the “Anthology”. It includes some of my all-time favorite movies and brings them to Blu-ray in generally good style. It’s certainly a dream for folks who want to know more about the series’ creation, as it comes packed with more supplements than I’d have dreamed possible. All of this makes me pretty pleased with this massive set.

44. The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (Theatrical & Extended Cuts) [4K UHD] (2014)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Does The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies finish the trilogy in a satisfying fashion? Yes and no – while it comes with plenty of excitement, it lacks the emotional depth/impact that it needs. Starring Ian McKellen, Martin Freeman. New Line, $89.98, 12/1/2020.

46. Rampage [4K UHD] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a ton of action and the potential for excitement, Rampage seems oddly flat. It feels like it should dazzle and delight but instead it just ends up as minor entertainment at best. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris. Warner, $44.95, 7/17/2018.

47. Airport [Blu-Ray] (1970)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While Airport launched the disaster flick boom of the Seventies, it doesn’t stand as one of the genre’s more interesting releases. Indeed, I think it’s probably one of the most boring examples of this kind of movie, as it pours on too much soap opera and too little action or intrigue. The Blu-ray offers pretty good picture and audio but lacks subs

48. The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King (Limited Edition) (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Where does that leave the 2006 “Limited Edition”? It’s a good choice for fans who own no version of The Return of the King and who want to be able to see both the theatrical and extended cuts of the film. That’s the only audience to whom I can recommend the set, as I think the other versions remain preferable for the reasons mentioned above. I have no pr

49. Death At A Funeral (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Death at a Funeral doesn’t fire on all cylinders, but it delivers a pretty good dark comedy. It uses a common social setting to nice effect and delivers an amusing experience. The DVD provides acceptable picture, mediocre audio and a couple of audio commentaries. This is a decent release for an entertaining flick. Starring Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes

50. Black Narcissus: Criterion Collection [Blu-Ray] (1947)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Black Narcissus offers 101 minutes of some of the finest photography ever filmed. The cinematography takes a potentially ordinary tale and elevates it to the level of something special; Narcissus is the kind of film that should be required viewing for those who want to work in the field ... As for the Blu-ray, it offered stunning visuals, good era-approp
