- 11. Training Day [Blu-Ray] (2001)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: 20 years after its release, Training Day remains remembered due to Denzel Washington’s Oscar-winning lead performance. I can’t find much else to keep the film in the public consciousness, as it mostly feels like a fairly generic 'rogue cop' tale. Starring Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke. Warner, $9.98, 8/1/2006.

- 12. Remember The Titans: Director's Cut (2000)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The DVD provides fairly solid picture and sound with a few decent extras. Unfortunately, it drops the best supplements from the original DVD. Because of that, I recommend fans skip this “Director’s Cut” release and stick with the old DVD. It’s the most satisfying way to watch the movie. Starring Denzel Washington, Will Patton. Disney, $19.99, 3/14/2006.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not quite as good as the second film in the series, The Equalizer 3 tops the original. It provides a moderately predictable but nonetheless fairly engaging thriller. Starring Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning. Sony, $34.99, 11/14/2023.

- 16. 2 Guns [4K UHD] (2013)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a strong cast, 2 Guns never turns into anything memorable. Although its stars make it watchable, the end product lacks the kick it needs to become better than average. Starring Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg. Universal, $29.98, 8/1/2023.

- 17. Déjà Vu (2006)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Déjà Vu gives us what we expect from a Jerry Bruckheimer flick: good production values, an intriguing concept, some action, and a pretty nonsensical story. In this case, the first three overrule the last one to make Vu silly but fun ... Vu isn’t a classic, but I think it at least merits a rental. Starring Denzel Washington, Paula Patton. Touchstone, $29.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While Remember the Titans reinvents no wheels, it proves to be a spirited and energetic look at integration and race relations in the early Seventies. Some misrepresentations of my home area put me off, but even so, I think the movie becomes fun and compelling. Starring Denzel Washington, Will Patton. Disney, $14.99, 9/6/2007.

- 19. Philadelphia: Anniversary Edition (1993)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Well-meaning in the extreme, I appreciate Philadelphia for its attempts to spread a message of tolerance and understanding. Unfortunately, these strengths also become weaknesses as the movie quickly turns one-sided and patronizing, with little room for debate. Starring Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington. Columbia TriStar, $24.96, 11/2/2004.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As is usually the case with films from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Remember the Titans reinvents no wheels and will win no prizes for originality, but in its execution, it proves to be a spirited and energetic look at integration and race relations in the early Seventies.
