1. Mary Poppins: 50th Anniversary Edition [Blu-Ray] (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I found Mary Poppins to offer a moderately entertaining and fun experience, and it's a film that's maintained a very strong following for many decades. However, it just doesn't do a whole lot for me; I think it’s too long and it features far too many musical numbers. The Blu-ray delivers strong picture and audio along with an informative collection of bo

2. Mary Poppins: 40th Anniversary Edition (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I definitely recommend the 40th anniversary DVD for those who don’t own any version of Mary Poppins. How about those who own a previous DVD? They should upgrade to this release as well. I remain a bit disappointed with the transfer due to the edge enhancement, but it’s still the best the movie’s looked on home formats, and the expanse of fine supplements

3. Mary Poppins: 45th Anniversary Edition (1964)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: This becomes the best Poppins to date, but does it deserve a double-dip from fans who own the 40th Anniversary disc? I’d say yes, but only if they’re unhappy with the older DVD’s audio. The new one provides a superior soundtrack. It also adds some Broadway-oriented supplements; they’re reasonably interesting but not worth a new purchase. Starring Julie A

4. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: Special Edition (1968)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I really wanted to like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and I respected some elements of the production. However, the movie seems too tedious and free from plot to become anything truly winning. It looks good but doesn’t offer much beyond an attractive exterior. Starring Dick Van Dyke. MGM, $29.98, 11/25/2003.

6. Newhart: The Complete First Season (1982)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Was Newhart better than The Bob Newhart Show? I’ll leave other fans to debate that, but I know that Newhart certainly amuses. Season One has its ups and downs, but it succeeds much more than it falters ... There’s a lot of good material on display in this entertaining release. Starring Bob Newhart, Tom Poston. Fox, $39.98, 2/26/2008.

7. Night At The Museum: Special Edition (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans can buy Museum in two flavors: this two-disc Special Edition and a single DVD version. The latter offers this package’s first disc on its own. The SE retails for $5 more than the simpler set, and I think it’s worth it. If you don’t care about supplements, don’t bother, but if they interest you, drop a few extra bucks and enjoy all the nice materials

9. Mary Poppins Returns [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 54 years, Mary Poppins Returns - and inspires yawns. More remake than sequel, the new film lacks creativity and inspiration. Starring Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda. Disney, $39.99, 3/19/2019.

10. Night At The Museum [Blu-Ray] (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Night at the Museum wins no points for originality or brilliance. However, it amuses on a consistent basis and gives us a lively piece of entertainment. The Blu-ray offers erratic but good picture, very nice audio and a few decent extras. Nothing about this release excels, but it satisfies, and the movie remains enjoyable. Starring Ben Stiller, Robin Wil
