Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A major disappointment, Backbeat fails to bring the story of the early Beatles to life. It features simplistic characters and a focus on cheap emotion that take it into the category of bland melodrama. Starring Stephen Dorff, Ian Hart. Universal, $19.98, 1/25/2005.

13. Modern Family: The Complete Fourth Season [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The Modern Family train keeps chugging with Season Four. It’s inconstent but generally pretty entertaining and it keeps us with it. The Blu-rays boast excellent visuals along with average audio and bonus materials. Fans should enjoy this reasonably entertaining batch of shows. Starring Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vargara. 14. Modern Family: The Complete Second Season [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After two seasons, Modern Family continues to offer a fun comedic take on its subject. Though I think the show can be a little too sappy at times, it still delivers enough laughs and charm to succeed. The Blu-ray boasts excellent visuals, acceptable audio and a decent set of supplements. This is a good release for an entertaining series. Starring Ed O’Ne

15. The Factory (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite a good lead performance from John Cusack, The Factory never rises above a level of averageness. It conveys a suitably creepy atmosphere and has some interesting twists, but it loses points due to lazy pacing and other deficits. The DVD offers pretty good picture and audio but lacks supplements. A pedestrian thriller, The Factory seems like passab

While it shows some flaws, the movie maintains a nicely objective and unsentimental tone that allows it to become involving and effective. Starring Warren Beatty, Diane Keaton. Paramount, $17.99, 11/30/2021.
