11. Death Wish [Blu-Ray] (2018)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A feverish fantasy for the Trump era, 2018’s Death Wish lacks substance. Neither crazed enough to entertain as a manic grindhouse effort nor deep enough to become a solid psychological thriller, the end result fails to satisfy. Starring Bruce Willis, Elisabeth Shue. Fox, $34.99, 6/5/2018.

12. Knock Knock [Blu-ray] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a slew of clichés and nary an intelligent moment to be found, Knock Knock delivers a brain-dead thriller. It requires so many leaps of logic to achieve its goals that it seems likely to leave the viewer exasperated. Starring Keanu Reeves, Lorenza Izz0. Lionsgate, $19.99, 12/8/2015.

13. The Last Exorcism: Part II (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want a good supernatural horror flick, look somewhere other than The Last Exorcism Part II. Slow, plodding and pointless, the movie lacks anything to make it compelling. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture, appropriate audio and a useful audio commentary. I have no complaints about this release, but the movie itself bores. Starring Ashley Bell,

14. Hostel: Part III (2011)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Will Hostel Part III do anything to convert new fans? No, but I suspect folks who enjoy the series will find merit in it. Though there’s nothing especially memorable here, it’s fine for its genre. The DVD provides erratic picture and audio as well as a good commentary. Leave this one for aficionados of the Hostel franchise. Starring Thomas Kretschmann, K

16. Inglorious Basterds [4K UHD] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It took him 15 years, but Quentin Tarantino finally made a movie that might live up to the expectations he set with Pulp Fiction. I hesitate to put Inglourious Basterds on the same level, but it’s a damned fine flick that succeeds on many levels - and it just might be better than Pulp Fiction. Starring Brad Pitt, Melanie Laurent. Universal, $29.98, 10/1

I hesitate to put Inglourious Basterds on the same level, but it’s a damned fine flick that succeeds on many levels. The DVD delivers pretty good picture and audio along with an average set of supplements. I definitely re

18. Piranha [Blu-Ray] (2010)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After a good remake of The Hills Have Eyes, I hoped director Alexandre Aja could give us a fun reworking of Piranha. Unfortunately, this failed to occur, as the movie becomes nothing more than a bad combination of boredom and nauseating gore. The Blu-ray offers mostly strong visuals, excellent audio and a solid array of supplements. While this is a top-n

19. Grindhouse [Blu-Ray] (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino united for a clever double feature via Grindhouse. Both movies entertain and this turns into a cool package. Starring Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan. Vivendi, $14.99, 10/5/2010.
