Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Although The Two Towers doesn’t feel as engrossing as its predecessor, that’s almost inevitable given its spot as the middle chapter of a trilogy. It’s still an excellent movie that continues the tale well. Starring Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen. New Line, $89.98, 12/1/2020.

-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: It took me a few viewings, but I finally figured out why so many people love The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I don’t know if I’ll ever reach their level of fervor, but I’ve come to really enjoy the flick and think it works quite well. Starring Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen. New Line, $89.98, 12/1/2020.

- 34. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Limited Edition) (2001)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: So who – if anyone – will want to buy this “Limited Edition”? Absolute die-hards will likely grab it to complete their collections, though I don’t think they’ll miss much without it. Does the new documentary tell us anything we don’t already know from the first two sets? Not really. A few interesting unique bits may emerge, but I don’t feel as though it

- 35. Deep Impact (1998)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At times, Deep Impact offered a reasonably involving and dramatic disaster movie, but it focused too heavily on bland character drama.

- 36. Bobby (2006)

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For the definition of the term “missed opportunity”, we can look at Bobby. A rambling, pointless waste of time, it totally discards all its potential to become a disjointed piece of indulgent nonsense ... While I can’t really complain about this disc, the movie itself doesn’t warrant your attention. Starring Demi Moore, Anthony Hopkins. Weinstein Company

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A pleasant surprise, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind looks trite at the start but it soon blossoms into something creative and involving. The movie doesn’t take too many predictable paths as it follows an unusual path to communicate the complications of relationships. Starring Jim Carrey, Kate Winslet. Universal, $29.98, 9/28/2004.

- 38. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind: Collector's Edition (2004)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I recommended the first release of Mind and endorse this one as well - if you don’t already have the prior edition. It presents everything from the initial set plus some substantial new components. However, if you already own the original set, I find it hard to push you to double-dip. It includes a few nice elements but not enough to merit a repurchase.
