11. Godzilla: Monster Edition (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: The big question becomes whether or not Godzilla partisans should pick up this DVD instead of the original from 1998. If you have the old disc, don’t bother. The new one offers identical visuals and audio along with most of the same extras. The new components aren’t good enough to warrant a second purchase. Starring Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno. Columbia

12. The Simpsons: The Complete Eighth Season (1996)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I wouldn’t refer to Season Eight of The Simpsons as the series’ best, but it sure offers plenty of fine programs. Only a couple minor duds pop up in this generally strong year. Look for plenty of great material inside this box ... Season Eight of The Simpsons earns yet another recommendation from me. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 8/15/2006.

13. The Simpsons: The Complete Fifth Season (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Arguably the series’ best year ever, Season Five of The Simpsons doesn’t include a single bad - or even mediocre - episode. The shows vary from good to excellent and never fail to entertain. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 12/21/2004.

14. The Simpsons: The Complete Third Season (1991)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season Three of The Simpsons finds the series as it really comes into its own. The occasional slight misfire occurs, but the show demonstrates a level of confidence sometimes absent during the first two years, and this results in a lot of great comedy. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 8/26/2003.

15. The Simpsons: The Complete Fourth Season (1992)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Some folks call Season Four of The Simpsons the series’ all-time best, and I can’t find much reason to fault that. Of the year’s 22 programs, only two fall into my list of bland programs, as even the gratuitous clip show offers a lot of laughs. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 6/15/2004.

16. Christmas With The Simpsons (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: As much as I love The Simpsons, I find it tough to recommend Christmas wholeheartedly. Fans who own the Season One DVD set will already own one of the episodes, and the disc’s best program – “Mr. Plow” – will appear during the next one to hit the shelves when Season Four finally makes it out of the factory. It’ll take much longer for us to get to any of

17. The Right Stuff [Blu-Ray Book] (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A vivid and heroic epic, The Right Stuff tells a dynamic tale with fervor and might. It treats its subject in a gripping and mythological way that makes it a consistent treat to watch. The Blu-ray provides pretty good picture and extras along with excellent audio. After 30 years, I still love this movie, and the Blu-ray replicates it well. Starring Sam S

18. The Right Stuff: 2-Disc Special Edition (1983)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Without question, this is the one for folks who don’t own the previous edition; it’s undeniably the best DVD of The Right Stuff available.

19. The Simpsons: The Complete Ninth Season (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: If you want to pinpoint the year when The Simpsons showed a true decline, Season Nine would be the one. Don’t take that as a strong criticism of these 25 shows, as we still find plenty of good laughs on display. However, we find less inspiration and more mediocrity here. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 12/19/2006.

20. Godzilla [Blu-Ray 4K] (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite all of the criticisms leveled toward it, I continue to enjoy Godzilla. Yeah, it presents some weak characters/performances and occasionally approaches a level of incoherence, but the many wild action scenes compensate for these flaws. Starring Matthew Broderick, Jean Reno. Columbia TriStar, $19.96, 7/16/2013.
