41. The Public Enemy [Blu-Ray] (1931)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A seminal gangster flick, The Public Enemy doesn’t always satisfy. However, much of it works well due to strong acting and directorial creativity; those elements help balance out a lackluster script and awkward pacing. The Blu-ray gives us high quality picture as well as pretty good audio and bonus materials. The Blu-ray brings home a classic gangster fl

43. Cop Land [Blu-Ray] (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Somewhat overwrought but generally compelling, Cop Land enjoys an excellent cast and an intriguing concept. It plods at times and goes off onto too many diversions, the movie nonetheless comes across as mostly engaging and well made. The Blu-ray delivers somewhat erratic but usually positive picture along with good audio and a reasonably informative set

45. The Village (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hopefully director M. Night Shyamalan will rebound with his fifth film. Unfortunately, his fourth, 2004’s The Village, stands as his worst effort. The movie lacks a coherent feel and relies too much on its twists to satisfy the audience. Starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Joaquin Phoenix. Buena Vista, $29.99, 1/11/2005.

46. The Simpsons: The Complete Fifth Season (1993)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Arguably the series’ best year ever, Season Five of The Simpsons doesn’t include a single bad - or even mediocre - episode. The shows vary from good to excellent and never fail to entertain. Created by Matt Groening. Fox, $49.98, 12/21/2004.

47. Hercules [Blu-Ray] (1997)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hercules seems destined to end up as one of Disney’s semi-forgotten flicks. It’s definitely a lesser effort, but it presents a reasonable amount of fun and entertainment. Starring Charlton Heston, Tate Donovan. Disney, $29.99, 8/12/2014.

48. Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead [Blu-Ray] (2009)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After two good movies, I hoped Wrong Turn 3: Left for Dead would be another relative winner. Unfortunately, it offered a tacky, cheap piece of garbage. The Blu-ray provides mediocre picture and audio along with only minor supplements. I doubt even big Wrong Turn fans will get anything from Left for Dead, as it’s a consistently weak film. Starring Tom Fre

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Hercules seems destined to end up as one of Disney’s semi-forgotten flicks. It’s definitely a lesser effort, but it presents a reasonable amount of fun and entertainment ... Though I like the movie, it’s tough to recommend this lackluster DVD, especially when it comes with a nearly $30 list price. Starring Charlton Heston, Tate Donovan. Disney, $29.99, 1

50. Nixon: Special Edition - Oliver Stone Collection Box Set (1995)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: In Nixon, Oliver Stone showed that he could still surprise me. I expected a vicious attack on the ex-president but instead found a fairly even-handed and moving look at the private man. As with every Stone film, Nixon possesses many flaws, but it remains one of his most consistent and compelling efforts. Starring Anthony Hopkins, Joan Allen. Warner, $63.
