231. Clerks [Blu-Ray] (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No sane person would expect stellar visuals and sound from Clerks on Blu-ray. The disc offers an acceptable presentation of the flick, but it’s always been and always will be an ugly movie. The Blu-ray does throw one bone to fans: a previously unreleased documentary – about a different film! If you don’t own the 10th anniversary Clerks DVD, the Blu-ray i

232. Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles - Season 1 (2008)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles attempts to fill some big shoes, and it succeeds only sporadically. The series entertains enough to keep us with it, and it does improve toward the end, but I must admit it doesn’t thrill me. Still, I look forward to Season Two and hope to see it continue to get better ... Although I’m not totally sold on the serie

233. Heroes: Season Two (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Season One of Heroes impressed me, and Season Two continued to keep me engaged. Even in its strike-truncated form, the year offered a lot of interesting stories and entertainment ... Heroes is a fine series that deserves my recommendation – I look forward to Season Three. Starring Hayden Panettiere, Masi Oka. Universal, $39.98, 8/26/2008.

236. The Day After Tomorrow: Collector's Edition (2004)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite its flaws, Day After Tomorrow is fun enough to earn my recommendation. If you don’t own the single-disc release, definitely get this special edition; it boasts all the original’s strengths and adds a surfeit of nice supplements. If you do have the first version, should you upgrade to the SE? Yes, but only if you want to learn more about the produ

237. Friends: The Complete Fifth Season (1998)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Happily, Season Five of Friends presents the series’ strongest set of shows to date. They really hit a groove that year, so even the worst programs still offer more than a few good laughs. The DVDs present the same decent but unspectacular picture and sound found on prior sets, and the extras are pretty similar as well. Warner, $44.98, 11/11/2003.

238. Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not as good as the first but much better than the second, Austin Powers In Goldmember doesn’t offer a comedy classic, but it provides enough humor to merit a look.

239. Live and Let Die: Ultimate Edition (1973)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Should folks who already own the prior release pursue this Ultimate Edition? Yes, though this isn’t the “slam dunk” I’d hoped it would be. The new supplements provide some very nice elements, and both audio and visuals demonstrate improvements. However, the picture still suffers from some problems, and the disc lacks the movie’s original monaural soundtr

240. Cinderella: Special Platinum Edition (1950)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Cinderella would deserve a special place in animation history simply because it revived the fortunes at Disney. However, it’s more than that, as the flick is still as charming and winning now as it was 55 years ago. Disney, $29.99, 10/4/2005.
