151. The African Queen (1951)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: While not the best of the John Huston/Humphrey Bogart collaborations, The African Queen provides a likable romantic adventure. It works mostly due to the chemistry of its leads, as the interaction between Bogart and Katharine Hepburn elevates the material. The DVD boasts excellent visuals but the audio seems lackluster. In terms of supplements, we only g

152. White Heat (1949)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: One of the classic gangster movies, White Heat holds up well more than a half a century after its creation. A few moments drag, but not enough to cause concerns, and stunning performances from Jimmy Cagney and Margaret Wycherly help make it a real winner. Starring James Cagney, Virginia Mayo. Warner, $19.97, 1/25/2005.

153. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre: Special Edition (1948)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A worthwhile entry on the AFI 100 list, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre works for those who want a manly adventure or who prefer something with more subtext. It benefits from generally excellent acting, a compelling story, and deft direction. Starring Humphrey Bogart. Warner, $26.98, 9/30/2003.

154. Dirty Harry [Blu-Ray] (1971)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With 1971’s Dirty Harry, one of the screen’s most iconic characters made his debut. I can’t say he did so in grand fashion, as Harry doesn’t provide stellar filmmaking but it does act as a reasonably compelling action drama. Starring Clint Eastwood, Harry Guardino. Warner, $19.98, 6/3/2008.

155. Peter Gabriel: Secret World Live (1994)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Peter Gabriel has always been a lively and vivid performer, and Secret World Live shows him in good form. The concert doesn’t always succeed, but it presents much more good than not and is a solid presentation. Starring Peter Gabriel. Universal, $19.98, 3/11/2003.

156. Vertigo: Alfred Hitchcock Masterpiece Collection (1958)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Vertigo definitely is effective, but something about it simply leaves me flat. Maybe it's because the film wasn't really what I expected. While it has some of those moments, it's not a really thrilling chiller ala Psycho. That's not bad, but even though I'd seen Vertigo years ago, I wasn't quite prepared for the route it would take. Starring James Stewar

157. House of Wax [Blu-Ray/Blu-Ray 3D] (1953)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After 67 years, House of Wax receives attention as a classic of sorts, but I admit I don’t get its appeal. I think the film drags and offers little in the way of drama or entertainment value. Starring Vincent Price, Phyllis Kirk. Warner Home Video, $35.99, 10/1/13. 158. Help!: The Beatles (Special Edition) (1965)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Help! hasn't aged quite as well as A Hard Day's Night, but it still offers some solid entertainment for Beatles fans. For all of its faults, it remains a fun film that gives us a not-so-candid look at a great band in their prime ... I’d like more extensive supplements, but the movie looks and sounds better than ever. Starring The Beatles. Capitol, $29.98

159. Sahara (2005)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Sahara attempts to give us an action film in the Indiana Jones vein, but it ends up as a lackluster wannabe. The movie never catches fire and lacks the zest and vigor to maintain our attention. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Penelope Cruz. Paramount, $29.99, 8/30/2005.

160. Once Upon a Time in America: Extended Director's Cut [Blu-Ray] (1984)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not much appreciated in its day, Once Upon a Time In America has garnered much higher status in the years since then. Personally, I think the movie has its moments and seems generally interesting, but it falls far short of honest greatness. Starring Robert De Niro, James Woods. Warner, $34.98, 9/30/2014.
