Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A worthwhile entry on the AFI 100 list, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre works for those who want a manly adventure or who prefer something with more subtext. It benefits from generally excellent acting, a compelling story, and deft direction. The Blu-ray gives us good picture and sound along with a terrific set of supplements. The Blu-ray delivered a st

192. Watership Down: Deluxe Edition (1978)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Fans will definitely want to pursue this 2008 “Deluxe Edition” instead of the original bare-bones effort. Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A guy’s movie, Rounders doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it presents a consistently intriguing piece. The movie boasts a solid cast and an interesting enough tale to keep the viewer with it. The Blu-ray delivers very good picture, acceptable audio and supplements highlighted by a couple of enjoyable commentaries. We find a generally positive movie present

196. Save The Date (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Tedious and self-involved, Save the Date becomes a chore to watch. It focuses on a group of characters so unlikable that it becomes difficult to invest in their stories. The DVD delivers generally good picture and audio along with a small but interesting set of bonus materials. Maybe others will get something from this effort, but it leaves me cold. Star

I think it offers some strong production numbers but the thinness of its story and characters makes it less than involving. The Blu-ray delivers good picture and audio along with a fairly nice roster of bonus materials. While I’m not w

The movie presents a spotty affair but includes enough entertainment to merit a look. Starring Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close. Warner, $14.98, 9/3/1997.
