- 121. The Jewel Of The Nile: Special Edition (1985)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: After the disappointment of Romancing the Stone, I didn’t expect much from its sequel. Nonetheless, The Jewel of the Nile provides some decent entertainment. At no point does the flick threaten to become memorable, but it keeps us reasonably interested. Starring Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner. Fox, $19.98, 8/29/2006.

- 122. The Family Stone (2005)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Too bad The Family Stone itself didn’t come as a surprise, pleasant or otherwise. An absolutely dreadful family melodrama that pounds emotional buttons with absurd urgency, it never threatens to become anything more than sappy schlock. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Dermot Mulroney. Fox, $29.98, 5/2/2006.

- 123. The Mark Of Zorro: Studio Classics (1940)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Though it seems more derivative of The Adventures of Robin Hood than I’d like, The Mark of Zorro develops enough of an individual personality to make it entertaining. A lot of the credit goes to its star, as Tyrone Power provides a light and lively performance that makes the movie swing. Starring Tyrone Powers. Fox, $19.98, 10/7/2003.

- 124. Gulliver's Travels [Blu-Ray] (2010)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not only does Gulliver’s Travels totally trash its literary predecessor, but also it simply fails to become an enjoyable movie. Packed with crummy jokes and cheap gags, nothing here succeeds; even with a brief running time, it’s tedious and unlikable. The Blu-ray comes with pretty good picture, terrific audio and some decent supplements. If you’re lookin

- 125. (500) Days Of Summer [Blu-Ray] (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I’m happy to see something that breaks with the romantic comedy norm, but (500) Days of Summer tries so hard to avoid conventions that it boxes itself in a corner. It creates its own tedious clichés in its self-conscious attempt to be Different and Quirky. The Blu-ray provides reasonably good picture and audio along with a nice collection of supplements.

- 126. Boat Trip: Unrated (2003)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: I might’ve seen a less funny and more repellent movie than Boat Trip, but I can’t think of any candidates right now. The film presents an absurdly crude and crass experience that never threatens to amuse. Starring Cuba Gooding Jr. Fox, $26.98, 9/30/2003.

- 127. Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs [Blu-Ray] (2009)
-
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Usually the third film in a franchise is either outright bad or at least a significant drop in quality from its predecessors. That makes Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs a serious exception to the rule, as I think it’s the best of the series. It’s the only one that left me pretty darned entertained inside of disappointed by its missed opportunities. The Bl

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Many folks dislike Independence Day and hold it up as an example of all that's wrong with big-budget, brainless action flicks. To those people I say this: relax! Take fun and exciting movies like this for what they are and save the brainpower for your next perusal of Dostoyevsky. Starring Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum. Fox, $19.99, 5/3/2016.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For some time now, I’ve regarded Aliens as my favorite film. A virtually flawless action flick, it provides a tremendous thrill ride bolstered by unusually strong story telling and acting. Starring Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn. Fox, $24.99, 9/13/2016.

Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Like all Judd Apatow movies, This Is 40 entertains with cleverness and wit. Like all Judd Apatow movies, This Is 40 needs an editor and would be more satisfying with some trims. It’s good but could’ve been great if took a more concise path. The Blu-ray offers excellent visuals and supplements as well as pretty positive audio. 40 comes with flaws, but I s
