21. Parkland [Blu-ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: At its heart, Parkland goes over a fascinating tale. However, it does so in such a rushed, superficial way that it fails to provide a satisfying exploration. Starring Paul Giamatti, Billy Bob Thornton. Millennium Entertainment, $19.99, 11/5/2013.

22. Cosmopolis [Blu-Ray] (2012)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Despite – or perhaps because of – its “stagey”/artificial feel, Cosmpolis provides an intriguing experience. One needs to get accustomed to its unusual style but the movie eventually manages to come together and create an impression. The Blu-ray delivers very good visuals, quirky audio and an informative package of bonus materials. Cosmopolis lacks gener

23. Fred Claus (2007)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a stellar cast and a clever concept, Fred Claus could’ve been a winner. Instead, it offers an experience so insipid and banal that it made me long for the relative pleasures of The Santa Clause; that hit was weak, but it beat this nonsense ... The premise and stars might tempt you to check out Fred, but don’t give into that temptation; avoid this lu

24. Morgan [Blu-Ray] (2016)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Perhaps director Luke Scott will someday produce a movie so good that he’ll no longer be reflexively referred to as “Ridley’s son”. Morgan isn’t that movie, as the film shows too many other influences and never turns into a creative, involving experience. Starring Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy. Fox, $39.99, 12/13/2016.

25. Paycheck: Special Collector's Edition [Blu-Ray] (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: For those who know they like Paycheck, I think it’s worth an upgrade from the DVD. I felt disappointed with that disc’s murky visuals, so the tighter picture quality found here pleased me. The image could use a good cleaning, but it remained pretty positive otherwise. Starring Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman. Paramount, $29.99, 5/19/2009.

26. Turbo [Blu-Ray] (2013)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: With a goofy but fun premise, I hoped Turbo would give us a peppy animated adventure. Unfortunately, the result lacks much charm or creativity; it limps along as a mediocre tale. The Blu-ray comes with excellent picture and audio but lacks substantial bonus features. Turbo offers passable family fare but never reaches higher than that. Starring Ryan Reyn

27. Paycheck (2003)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: Not anywhere near as good as John Woo’s best flicks but also not his worst effort, Paycheck comes across as a fairly average movie. Blessed with a clever story, it generally keeps us interested, but it never takes flight and becomes anything special. Starring Ben Affleck, Uma Thurman. Paramount, $29.99, 5/18/2004.

28. San Andreas [Blu-Ray 3D] (2015)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: No one will mistake San Andreas for a great film, as it lacks substance and delivers painfully cheesy moments at times. Still, it packs a lot of action and excitement into its 114 minutes, so it gives us a fun, brainless disaster-based thrill ride. Starring Dwayne Johnson, Carla Gugino. Warner, $44.95, 10/13/2015.

30. The Ant Bully (2006)
Reviewed by Colin Jacobson: A serviceable flick, The Ant Bully offers minor entertainment. However, in a world with so many really good animated movies, “minor entertainment” doesn’t pay the bills. The film keeps us occupied for about 90 minutes but just doesn’t go any higher than that. Starring Julia Roberts, Nicolas Cage. Warner, $28.98, 11/28/2006.
